PG got the Star of the rally award, and deservedly so. But Andreas Mikkelsens drive was no less impressive. He went off on SS2 and lost 15-20 secs. Then had a puncture on SS3 losing him 31 seconds towards PG. After day1 Andreas Mikkelsen was 1 min. 12 secs. behind PG. At the finish the distance was 25 secs. PG had the possibility to avoid taking maximum risk on saturday and sunday, but he couldn`t afford to go cruising.
I wish them both good luck for the rest of the season, and it would have been great to have a straight fight between them through a whole season. Regrettably I`m not at all sure if PG gets a proper chance. He is a great bloke and driver, but so far hasn`t got the support around him to bring him further. Andreas Mikkelsen however, has a proper management and people around him willing to invest what it takes to get him to the top.
