Fiesta power steering problems come in my opinion mostly from its rather extreme castor of the front axle. If You remember Fabia S2000 at the beginning also had plenty of issues with the power steering, so had fiesta S2000 or WRC (especially at the beginning of the previous generation). All of these cars had the same huge castor on the front axle. It works like a lever. The bigger the castor the more You lift the car body with the steering, i.e. the bigger castor the higher forces in the steering. I believe that this was one of the reasons why Škoda came with the vertical damper mounted behind the upright with the introduction of the R5.Quote:
