Ford drivers end of Day 3:
Evgeny Novikov (3rd) said:
“Today has been a good day and of course I am very happy with the position at the moment. Tomorrow we have another five stages so we will have to see what the weather will be, but for the moment we are happy. “I think it is better for me if it is fully dry or full snow. We still have some difficulties in the mixed conditions, but it is not so bad. We are gaining a lot of experience and that is the most important thing. “Yes, this is only my second year and I am doing quite well, but it is difficult to explain exactly why. I am here to fight and achieve good results – that is all I try to do on every rally.”
Juho Hänninen (7th) said: “Today has been OK. We went on the safe side with the tyres because I want to save some new studs for tomorrow if it snows as the weather is suggesting. I am quite happy with my driving and I feel as though we are learning more and more each stage. “Thanks again to the team because the car has been perfect all rally.”
Mads Østberg (8th) said: “We made some more changes to the car in service and that worked a lot better for me this afternoon. We had a stage win [SS12] which was really good – it felt like everything just came together for us on that stage. To be honest I think we just calmed down and started again – that’s where the confidence has come from. “We had a lot of discussions with our engineer last night so we knew what to do and understood what was necessary to go faster. Instantly it worked, and that was a good thing for sure. “I think we had a really good run on the last stage as well but we were on the wrong tyres. I have certainly learnt a lot more about driving on Tarmac with snow tyres and I think we are progressing well in all areas. Hopefully we can continue to improve tomorrow.”
Team Principal, Malcolm Wilson OBE said: “It’s been another fantastic day for the team. It is especially pleasing to see that all of our drivers have now had a fastest time. We have a big team and the fact that all of them are capable of recording stage wins just goes to prove how competitive the Fiesta [RS WRC] is and certainly bodes well for the rest of the season. “It is also good to see how all three drivers have adapted to what have been some of the most difficult Monte conditions for many years – I certainly haven’t seen conditions as tricky as this for a long time!”
You really don't understand rallyiing, do you? Following ypur plan, you would probably have to drive on your rims the last dayQuote:

Michal Ernst suffered a serious injury in March 2012 in an accident in Valašská rally. He had a terrible opened fracture of that arm.Quote:

wish I'd had that when I got my arm trapped between the cage and the door during an off. Elbows aren't as squidgy as I expected :'(
Or maybe Prokop is inspired by Gigi and gets a bit fistycuffsy so he's wearing padding ready for a sparring session
Efcharisto, dimviii :) The photo of Prokop in the tunnel is in my opinion on St. Jean en Royans stage.
There has been a several years long discussion about HANS here including a petition against its mandatory use. You know there has been a large number of back injuries in last couple of years which were uncommon in the past. Even in WRC Dennis Kuipers, Ilka Minor and several others suffered broken lumbar vertebrae. In the IRC it was Guy Wilks for example. Here drivers association asked several doctors and they made a statement that especially in case of impact from the bottom the usually used form of HANS transform too much force into the strain of lower back and therefore can cause a fracture in the S-shape of the spine. Of course often it's caused by wrong HANS size or angle of the collar or wrong seat size, loose belts etc. Another factor is if there are normal belts used or those with helper stripes for HANS fixation. The Simpson Hybrid HANS shall not cause this transformation of vertical load into lumbar spine.Quote:

Temperature on those two stages will be +1..+4 during their runs. there will be medium and heavy rain that turns very heavy during the powerstage
Turini stage. temperature will be between +2.. and -3 during the whole three runs.it should snow on all elevations right now. medium to heavy snow continues whole day and turns very heavy tomorrow eavning (maybe just after the last stage - too late). I dont see 50 cm coming before the end of rally stages (maybe 20 cm).. but by Sunday evening it can be 50 cms, maybe.
At around 10-11 it should change from snow to rain on lower elevations. however, It continues to snow on the most of the stage. SS16 will be difficult tomorow.. with studded tyres from celan stage to snowy..
Nice to see Novikov climbing the ladder! But what is going on with Sordo? I know Monte is a bit of a lottery of a rally but dani used to be THE tarmac specialist behind Loeb.
Probably has something to do with the white stuff on top of the tarmac.
That's better :)Quote:

10th WRC title on its way :champion:
Good photo, but not sure what to correct first about that sentence ;) haha firstly it's a photo from 2012, and secondly there is zero chance he'll win a 10th title unless there is a cataclysmic set of retirements in every rally!
Why is Kosciuszko so slow?
Liked the photo. No year mentioned. You never know.

Sordo has said that he wants to be on the podium, but the team has asked him to finish. Besides, he has revealed that he's run out of studded tyres, while Seb still has two new.
Sordo has it all to win it all.
