It's not just these mistakes, but in mid-season Alonso seemed to have lost a bit of his usual focus. IMO Alonso drove an excellent second half of the season, he was definitely the best driver in the latter part (with Vettel) but very average in some of the early races.
Alonso is one of them, but far away from the best driver.
