RallyBase.nl is pleased to announce a deal with Curtans Motorsport from Sweden which allows a second Peugeot 206 WRC driven by RallyBase.nl owner Kabouter to partner the teams regular driver Magnus on selected rounds of the 2008 CMR2 World Rally Championship. Kabouter has competed on one WRC round in the past and has this to say about the present deal: "The partnership between RallyBase.nl and Curtans Motorsport is an ideal opportunity for RallyBase.nl to be associated with the dynamic world of CMR2 World Championship rallying. We are competing just for fun and are not aiming too high for our return to competition after a long absence. Finishing events and enjoying the whole experience will be our main goal this season. We would like to thank Magnus and Curtans RallyBase for this offer and are looking forward to a successful cooperation."
With the antithesis of a gentleman competing in this series (jso1985) it would be good to 'shape up' the field a bit with a gentleman drivers team :laugh:Quote:

This will be my 4th season (3rd complete season) and we've never had a group this size. Let's hope everyone makes it to the rallies..Quote:

Excel?
Yes-but you must get everyone to comply...Quote:

Just one change in this bit, my A.RT Ford UK entry should list me as coming from Australia....not that dark cold place that once ruled us ;)Quote:

What about excel CMR Time Card from Yahoo Group files as a common input? I'm using it all the time, thinking everyone should.
I use that one as well, if everyone uses it, it is extremely easy to generate the stage-to-stage results with a singel push on the button.
Hi Guys
Do you still have space for newcomers? I just noticed that there are not any drivers from Finland yet. I would like correct that and participate the championship with my 5 years old son Tuomo with two Peugeot 307's. My son is young, but he drove CMR2 first time when he was 2 years. I am still faster (if you don't count team orders ;) ), but he's developing very quickly.
That sounds good. New family team, new Finland's drivers, new Pugs307. The season is going to be very nice crowded.
Updated again, we're up to 24 now:

Had an embarassing test on Monte stage 17 (Sweden SS7 mirrored with wet tarmacs):
6 seconds off last years time :(
Got some work to do
I was up for some testing today aswell, but my, errm... lets say there was a crack in the windscreen reflecting the light in such a bad way that nothing could be seen. I thus have to fix a new windscreen... Hmm...
I hope the other half of Curtans RallyBase Motorsport is doing better :)
was out testing my Fabia on the italian roads today... must say i am pleased with the car that the team got up but my driving can be improved alot! Looking forward to the Monte Carlo rally!
OOPs Monte, forgot to get testing...What's everyone using? tarmac on snow? Dirt tyres on snow? does it matter which stage I use?

Monte uses mirrored italy and sweden stages
I've been testing in France. Since adopting a new set-up I've been improving significantly on my stage times on tarmac. However the Monte Carlo roads are slightly trickier and I haven't done any snow testing for several months, so don't expect too much of me...Quote:

No testing bans whatsoever...Rallies are to be done in single rally mode with no restarts.Quote:

An addtional Monte rule also applicable for the Sweden round: no cutting across the drifts on the frozen lake stage (SS2)
Tannat
thanks Tannat, it slows you down heaps anyway, so there's no point cutting....
performed my first test of the season in Sweden in light snow conditions which was unexpected as the weather crew had predicted sunny spells but was a productive session in the good ol' fabia
But you can still win plenty of time by doing it(not that I have done it  :p )Quote:

As for the stage-by-stage results, main problem is that I know almost nothing about excel files and stuff, unless someone can teach me something that could help me, the results will take longer to be published when having big entry lists
If the format is the same, I can easily make a tool for you which calculates the stage-by-stage results with a single press on the button. But I have to know what the exact format is and everyone should use it and leave it like that.Quote:

It's easy to use..
If we want to use the Time Card from Yahoo files, there is format 2:56,78
I think...
The , or . as decimal seperator is determined by the regional settings of your computer. In most parts of europe we use the dot as decimal seperator, but I believe in the UK and US the comma is used. But I can arrange something in the program to correct this automatically. I'll try to get it working as soon as possible, but can't promise I'll have it in time for the Monte.
I think comma or dot is just set in the excel Time Card file, no matter on regional settings. Because I'm using normaly dot in Czech Rep. or in Norway, but our Time Card accept only comma.
Not having the greatest of tests (Sweden/wet tarmacs) in the Suzuki..
Absolutely can not get the end of the car to come around..even with the handbrake and -3 brake bias
The car seems doomed to understeer with the lack of grip from wet tarmacs on snow
Maybe we'll focus on being fast on day 1 (Italy mirrored)
