As long as he outscores Stroll, that's all I need. Even better if he manages to do it at my bonus GP with enough margin to give me a buffer!

Yeah, I have a lot more faith in the RB win vs the Stroll vs Tsunoda battle though. Since RB have the strongest car right now, I'm more worried about Yuki!
And just for clarification, it doesn't take a 1-2. That was the mistake I was making for a while a couple years back when looking at scores. The first chassis and engine can be the same car as long as your choices fit both.
Nothing will help me. McLaren are dogs too!
They really kind of lost their way this year. I was hoping for them to work through the initial teething issues and make big strides from there. Of course it never helps when you have a driver that can't come to grips with the car, but it seems the performance is still hit and miss.

N. Jones,
I had to make sure to "Like" both of your posts before bringing up that Alonso was given a post race penalty which took him out of the points.
BUT, that brings Yuki up to 8th place, and if RB can bag a Mexico win, the fight with me and Lewis in FGP is down to a 1 point gap in my favor, with the finishes of Lance and Yuki being the deciding factors. I'm hoping that Yuki can score high enough in Mexico to give me some leeway, since it seems that the AM is coming alive. The only thing that saved me today was Stroll taking himself out.
If RB doesn't win the next race I'm toast!
Good catch Bagwan.
Based on the last I've seen a decision should be made on the Alpine counter protest by Thursday evening. So there is still a chance Alonso gets his points and the others fall back down to their finishing positions on track.
And if that happens the FGP standings might be even tighter and all riding on Mexico for me to have any chance. If Red Bull wins in Mexico it will all be down between a shootout with Lance and Yuki!
I am waiting to see if Alpine appeal before making a change.
Lance and Fred are my two drivers , so the crash wasn't a good moment for the team .
Having Alonso burned was another slap , so , hoping he can stick his tongue out at Haas and get those points back .
Besides , it was Ocon , not Fred , who complained about loose endplates on the Haas in previous races , so Alpine should find something to drill him with and leave Fernando alone .
I'm not happy about Alonso getting a penalty myself, but at the same time understand the position of Haas. After being shown the meatball several times this year, they are bringing to light the fact that the rules aren't always enforced properly, or in some cases at all. Though Checo's endplate seemed to deteriorate rather quickly, the fact that they never flagged him seems strange. In Alonso's case the mirror didn't come to light until after the pit stop obviously, but once again they never showed him the flag.
As far as how they are dealing with it, also strange. Haas brought it to their attention while the race was in progress. As such in my eyes they really shouldn't have had to file any protest, but from the last I've heard the FIA deem it OK beyond the usual time limits for (some reason). And in either case a 30 second penalty seems fairly strong considering how George only got 5 seconds and Lance only got 3 grid positions.
I forgot to mention, thanks for that, and good thinking to wait.
Besides, I don't want to hear the whining from Bagwan when he realized that Alonso might get robbed of his points after his Canadian team owners sun blew it for him. That and the fact that Team Trophy is beating him soundly might put him over the edge. It's better that you, the governing body with harsh penalties in his toolkit if needed, try to let him down lightly.
 ;)

Penalty reversed so everything stays as it is.
Just messing with you Baggy, I'm glad Fred got his points back too. I thought the penalty was way too harsh either way. And I get having to let Trophy Wife win, I'm glad my wife had no interest in FGP.... it might end bad for me.
As for smug, just taking lessons from George "this crash wasn't my fault either" Russell on how to be entitled!
So now if RB can take a win in Mexico it looks like the FGP battle between me and Lewis is all down to the Stroll vs Tsunoda battle. Lance has grid penalties coming up, but overall I think AM and Lance still have the upper hand. My only real hope is that Yuki can get some points that double for my bonus GP in Mexico.
With both Mercs looking competitive and splitting Max and Sergio... this may be more of a bit of nailbiter than you expected Airshifter. 😉
I really wasn't worried with Max up front. I expected RB to one stop fairly early in the race myself. I was just mad that Ricciardo took Yuki out of any chance at points. Though he wasn't looking on form to get them, it's my only chance to even things up or pull ahead.
With only 1 point in it now, it's all down to the Lance vs Yuki battle for the final couple of races. I think Lewis has the upper hand on me, but maybe if Yuki curses enough it will get in Lances head!

sorry i was late.
My twins on the podium - for now. Grrrr
You and your kids team have been battling for a while. Though the twins have a decent amount of points in hand, Ferrari has been subject to really blow it all year. I think you betting on the Merc/RB combo is probably a safer bet, but with only a couple races left it could be close!
Though there is only 1 point in it at the top, I have little doubt that I will again prevail. If Yuki doesn't overcome the gap I have prepared protests on several fronts. The accusations of both food and alcohol deliveries to the home of N. Jones will also be proven to be false, while the validity of FGP super license points eligibility for young non forum members will be easy to prove. :grenade:
Or he will beat me fair and square, and it's looking like that might end up being the case.
Yuki has been stinking up my team all year so I wouldn't count on him to deliver.

A race win for Zico, so at least he has some consolation that Lewis is beating him up this season.
We can share a drink in misery after I admit that Lewis beat me fair and square. Unless Yuki pulls off a miracle in the final race, I'm toast. And it looks like unless Mia can pull off some extra points, the twins team might beat her as well. Is this an indication that the youngsters are up and coming in FGP? Are me and Tazio the only older people still running with the torch to represent the older forum members? Will Bagwan have to accept a punishment from Trophy Wife?
It looks like with the right results Moto69 and team byebye still have a good shot at a podium. That last race will be all or nothing for both of us.
It was actually a draw but I'll take it.. ;) We all have to concede to the younger talent at some point in our careers so I don't really mind my 13 year old son wasting me.... well as long as he wins the FGP grand prize of an all expenses paid trip for two to the GP of his choice. :p
I'd like to be somewhere that the bottom half for once.
Time to pick better, we are looking to next year!
Looks like I´m beaten by Leo and Theo this year. Well well well, we will see next year.
i'm searching forward to it, as normal. And similar to maximum years, i will wait until the second one trying out consultation is over, simply to look if it tells us greater approximately who is robust.
i'm hoping to do poorly in FGP this year. Why, you ask? I need the entire discipline to shake up with enough surprises that none people have a stable idea of who may win. and that i need it to be a year wherein no groups dominate, however a selection of motors have a stable shot at podiums week to week depending on who receives setup and the riding proper. And for the sake of Bagwan, all that is both earlier than and when they axe DRS

That is sooooooo old news Taz. But you can still maybe apply for a lesser position on my team if you want to see the podium view again! But since I didn't quite make even the two peat the jokes on me this time.
N. Jones,
Any chance the sprint points will start being included? I'm not sure how it would play in the points overall, but it might. And it looks like they are here to stay.
In either case, thanks for keeping this going for us. Win or lose it's always a good time for some fun and smack talk.
I don't know. I have been watching to see whether they will become a mainstay or not.
Hello Mr Jones, are you still doing the FGP for 2023 ?
Damnit, I thought I had more time!
YES! I just posted the thread with the link.
APOLOGIES!!!
