I was going to say the same + wondering how many broken rims from TGR we will see this weekend. However, really looking forward this rally, it is the best together with Corsica. WRCs look awesome in tarmac trim.

Just went to do Pickems. Already closed! :( Here are mine for what its worth!!
1 Ogier 2 Tanak 3 Neuville 4 Sordo 5 Evans 6 Meeke 7 Latvala 8 Sunninen
Just noticed that the stage goes in opposite direction for SD. So it won't be so easy for them after all.
Cause shakedown doesn't actually "show" on the maps. So what you saw in the morning was them running from right(east) to left(west) but with an overlay of the evening stage.
(you can check it near the hairpin in the middle, for example from Řstberg vid you can see which way he went and the road he hit, was from east to west)
Princen was really unlucky

Mikkelsen saying he's much happier with the feeling after the further tarmac improvements on the i20. Wants to fight at the top this weekend.
Meeke saying he doesnt feel he's had a bad season but Portugal and Finland has knocked the middle part of the year. Wants to get a podium and finish in front of a few Hyundai's.
Lappi saying it's the hardest rally of the year for him, hates dirty tarmac and is unsure how much Citroen will be on the pace from tomorrow after the troubles in Corsica.
All drivers saying punctures tomorrow could decide the rally. A lot rougher than previous years.
All @Michelin
@OfficialWRC
drivers with 5 MICHELIN Pilot Sport H5 (Hard)
Mads pushing.
very good first split from Gus
Mikkelsen touched a small stone but no puncture.
Super-close again.
But Tanak still finds the fastest time.
Sordo is just in amazing form this year
Interestingly on straights Citroëns hit the highest top speed (194 km/h), the Toyotas the lowest (barely 180 km/h) but Tänak is still reasonably fastest. It looks like Toyota opted for shorter gearing. Hyundai and M-Sport were somewhere between with some 186 km/h.
Funny how they complain about the road being dirty. There was basically no dirt visible on the stage and anti-cuts everywhere. The only dirty thing was the straw in chicanes.
this was a great idea IMO to use the SD stage as SS1...the other rallies should do the same, not those useless super specials
Hmm, I disagree. The don't need to use shakedown as SS1 to avoid using bullshit stages. They can use whatever normal stage instead. If they want to use SD they could at least reverse it. Driving the same stage over and over again adds some risk and here in CZ we actually had a tragic accident on a stage which the crew did already fourth time including shakedown (you may remember the name of Martin Semerád, once Pireli Star Driver, whose career ended with that).
Sarrazin very slow on SS1. Possibly puncture or something...
Anything is better than the Mickey mouse stages. Even another run through shakedown
Ogier looks really impressive through SS01. I'm not Ogier fan but his drive was brilliant, not so fast enough as Ott, but spectacular to watch
agreed. what i was surprised by is how much sweat he had after such a short stage, he is working around with that citroen
SS vs SD (just for fun)
Katsuta -1,3
Greensmith -0,8
Sordo -0,5
Tänak -0,4
Latvala -0,3
Meeke -0,1
Suninen -0,1
Neuville +0,4
Ogier +0,6
Mikkelsen +0,7
Lappi +1,3

At least Camilli time with new Fiesta isn't so horrible as it was in Finland. Really great looking car, but performance from the box so low :/

watching hari pictures, arent the Toyota rims a little bit different compared to Corsica or is it just me? The centre part? https://www.ewrc-results.com/image/471676/
seems same to me

Looks like now the center of the rim sits a bit deeper compared to the spokes. Anyway, the difference could be invisible (composition of the material the rims are made of).

The Manx Rally used to be like this also, they repeated the stages many times and the speed just ramped up. Vatanen had a huge accident in the MCD Escort when he overstepped the limit, was lucky to get away with it. I seem to remember when interviewed he referenced the repeated stages as a contributor to the accident.

Anyone knows where this hairpin is?
E: nvm, not in this years route
SS1 TGR rims were different than before.
I kind of like #17 Katsuta car because it has no sponsor stickers, just TGR colours.
