He has a contract until the end of the season, my understanding is he has an out clause but Hyundai don't.
As an athlete I suspect he has hit the wall and can go no further.

In a press statement Mads states that - in no unclear words - it is the car, and not him.
He feels the lack of speed is "causes that we (Mads and his codriver) we dont have control over our selves."
And then one could off course speculate if that is the reason, or if it is a combination of car and driver, or if it is the driver?
In Ostberg's case it is the driver....Tänak was faster than him before his alternator problem. Ostberg may be 2nd in the championship but IMO Wilson made a huge mistake letting both Evans and Tänak go. He should have kept at least one of them but they didnt bring enough money to him and there you go.
Paddon's progress is just amazing.
Maybe we’ll only know what happened between Neuville and Hyundai after he leaves the team, but if he gets a seat in another manu next year it’d be nice see him getting back to the top.
Meanwhile, it’s great to see Paddon in such a close fight with VW’s drivers. This means the i20 has now the speed and the reliability to match the Polo and Paddon has become one of the bests. Fantastic news for the rest of the season.
Mads SS9 - 4.57.8 "I plan to go to the end. I just have to drive, and that's what I'm doing."
There are clearly some underlying issues here...
Ostberg is not this slow on gravel and I guess its the team instructions that are determining his pace here. Either that or the car"s performance is reduced.
His statements of being happy with slow times just dont add up.
Are all Belgian's flakey and mentally weak ;)?
Neuville had genuine pace and looked to have real talent when he was in the IRC and with MSport in the WRC, but it's like he's just chucked it and lost it the same way Duval did.
Same can be said for a lot of the supremely talented yet mentally weak Belgian footballers, namely Eden Hazard. They get a great contract and have a little bit of success and it goes to their head.
Ever since Sweden or Mexico last year, it's like Neuville has thrown in the towel and decided to sulk after the new car was delayed. Now he's in a rut and has seemingly forgotten how to drive fast.
He's like a petulant child. He could have led this team to rival VW but instead it's Paddon who will be/ is doing that. Haydon has the fight and determination it seems and that's what you need to become a champion, as well as some bollocks (which Neuville doesn't seem to have either)
I can see Neuville ending up at Citreon next year, so he can get an arm round the shoulder and a bit of TLC from his fellow Belgian Matton....

He needs to drive with a cougar in the back..

If Neuville continues like this he risks to not have too many possibilities next year...
to race the triple world champion? lol
he is slower from all works drivers, except Camilli with 3 wrc rounds at his palmares.
You have to stop this joke with Ostbergs speed.A speed we havent see for years, and decreases constantly.

whats the situaton? Fiesta is bad car? lolololol Do you remember last year with the difficult ds3 that didnt suit him?
Its really ridicullus.
Plenty have won stages when leaders and all positions have safe gaps and cruising.
Unfortunately Mads the only he can do,is to hope for others drivers offs and mechanical problems. He cant fight even in snow.
Again this discussion about Ostberg being slow. Yes we all know, he has been like this for years. So? Do you see many drivers that can do better, be faster and not crash? Except for a few new up and coming young guys in WRC2 I don't see many.
[QUOTE=er88;1088891]Are all Belgian's flakey and mentally weak ;)?
a) Belgian Motocrossers have been some of the all time great motocross riders.
1) Send Neuville to a few Belgian motocross training camps.
2)Look for potential Belgian rally drivers amongst the top Belgian motocross riders - that have the fitness, physical hardness, mental toughness, quick reflexes etc to make a good driver. (similar to the rider to driver transition Peterhansel did with the Dakar Rally)
b) Look through the Belgian Special forces for a rally driver - evasive driving etc is usually part of the anti-terrorist/ anti-kidnapping/ vip protection training program.
so he has to stop the excuses.

Ogier safely through ss 10.Average speed 117,1 km/h fastest stage till now.
Paddon -5,8 at midstage! Lets see Latvala now.
Oh hell yeah Hayden!!
Becsy is getting wet on Paddon
Paddon second overall again. Great time on last stage 7,7 seconds faster than Ogier. And Neuville is picking up pace it seems. Not that it really matters at this point.
Tanak coming with fast splits. His fiesta seems faster than Ostbergs one.
Fantastic time from Ott
Tanak 3rd time with fiesta, faster from Ogier Mikkelsen with DMACKS. http://www.petrolheads.gr/images/smi...th/laughat.gif
What a time by Tänak! He needs to get in Hyundai instead of Neuville and we have a dream team, Paddon- Tänak. At least I would have :)
Tänak: "We tried our best but my side window is opening and directing a strong wind onto my face."
Lol
what´s wrong? SS should be live
Sat 10:08 - SS11: Delay
The stage has been delayed. Ogier is still on the start line. More news soon.
Sat 09:54 - Stage info: SS11
Los Gigantes - Cantera El Condor 1, 38.68km. Los Gigantes has previously hosted the Dakar Rally. It covers barren and remote territory as it peaks at 1912 metres after 12.40km of climbing from the start on bumpy, sandy roads. After reaching the top, the stage becomes fast and flowing on a clay surface, with few reference points in the wide open environment. There are plenty of cows, horses and sheep roaming the hills and fog is a distinct possibility.
sunny weather at El Condor
Lets see if the 38,68km stage will have any surprises.

A spectator died from causes that are trying to establish through a judicial inquiry. Reason for which
the organization decided to delay the start of SS11 the giants Cantera Condor for operating the transfer of the body.
Sat 10:37 - SS11: Paddon vs Ogier
Paddon 11.4sec up on Ogier at the 20km split!
Ogier is pretty slow, almost everyone is faster than him. I would expect him to push hard to get ahead of Paddon...
It remains unbelievable that we're having to listen to some extremely crappy radio reception to get a sense of following this rally 'live.'
Radio cutting out right when Paddon is talking.
We're in 2016 guys!
