Ogier won MC in 2009, Hirvonen in 2010Quote:

Just heard the news about atko, very nice to see him back, and in an impreza aswel!
Of course I don't want to bring their victories down but it's always good to see circumstances when speaking about pure speed. Ogier won it in 2009 more by luck than speed. Some six drivers in front of him retired or had punctures. He won only one stage where he lives at, where there was plenty of new snow (he was starting quite far in the field) and where Hänninen and Meeke crashed.Quote:

Mikko in 2010 benefited strongly from special wet tyres made by Pirelli only for Monte Carlo to take a victory from Michelin. He won only few stages but he made enough time on wet stages so his slower times on snow didn't harm him. There is also one more point - the secrecy how Ford passed scrutineering one day later after they were rejected (I believe there were also some protest from Škoda against homologation - maybe also from PSA?).
Both won and that's fact. But we can't say their victories showed they were way faster than those like Hänninen, Meeke or Sarrazin. (Solberg last year for another example). Moreover in Monte where it is often quite a gamble.
Daniel Oliveira (formaly Brasil WRT) has entered in a Subaru Impreza in clas 3. No WRCar, not even a Mini of Ford?
Mads Ostberg has entered outside M-Sport and under his own name. Has he plans to register for manufacturer?
I wouldnt have thought so, it seems nowadays even Manufacturers cant even register as manufacturers :(Quote:

"Rallye-magazin.de states"??? How can some german site "state" anything firm about Henning Solbergs situation? All they are doing are quoting rumours. It will surprise me enormously if Henning won`t be at the starting line in Sweden! But then again, who am I to know...Quote:

I am not surprised about Oliveria's situation from what we saw of him last year.
How many R4 Impreza's have you seen run by Prodrive lately?Quote:

Nice entry, Montes one has a better quality though, both in WRC and SWRC.
Good :)Quote:

more drivers that know tarmac surface better...which potentially will make the competition better.Quote:

It is not always about numbers and names...try and see the big picture...or you are going to end up like those strange poeple who think posting news about Al rajihl and the rest of the tourist squad important.
How did you work that one out? Sweden seems to basically be the same + more.Quote:

So suddenly the tourist drivers became interesting for you? ;)Quote:

And, by the way, I have no problem if Al rajihl gets an post or two here :)
i do not think drivers like Arzeno, Abbring are tourists, on tarmac at least.Quote:

@Vargåsen, I think you are correct about 2003, when something like 28 WRC`s competed. Tord Linnerud/Yours Truly finished the rally in 19th place in our Toyota Corolla WRC, in front of Jari Viita/T. Laine Ford Focus WRC, while first Gr. N car on the overall list was Kenneth Bäcklund (Mitsubishi) in 21st place. 2003 Swedish Rally was indeed a great event when it came to entries and competition!
another word for this is "journalists"... they are all the same.Quote:
