If you include the ETCC. BMW have won a major Touring Car Championship every year since 1975
Whilst not the 'Australian Touring Car Championship' itself, BMW did win the 1986 Australian Endurance Championship, run to exactly the same rules as the ATCC (ie... Group A), with Jim Richards in the JPS BMW.
Was that a one-off race, or a series of races?Quote:

The 1986 Australian Endurance Championship calendar was;
Round 1 - Amaroo Park 300km
Round 2 - Surfers Paradise 300km
Round 3 - Castrol 500 (Sandown)
Round 4 - James Hardie 1000 (Bathurst)
Round 5 - Calder Park 300km
Round 6 - Oran Park 250km
I'll have to do some checking, but from memory a BMW won the 1986 New Zealand Touring Car Championship as well.
Thanks for the information Racer69.
I look forward to your answer on the New Zealand Championship.
I have sent you a PM.
I had a feeling there would be problems with this question....
who was driving for the same manufacturer in diffrent years when he and both his team mates clashed and crash out of the btcc . .
who was he
who was his team mates
and who was the manufacturer
Try posting a question in English please.

Until Racer69 can confirm that the 86 Newzealand Touring Car Championship was won by a BMW. I will stick with that answer if it's okay with you, Font-of-all-Knowledge, Alfa Fan!Quote:

Found the answer, your were right PDS.
Graeme Bowkett won the 1986 New Zealand Touring Car Championship in a Holden Commodore, from Trevor Crowe in the Archibald Motorsport BMW 635csi. This series was held in early January prior to the Nissan-Mobil 500 International Series, which was won on points by Graeme Crosby/Lou Mackinnon in an ex-Frank Sytner BMW 635csi.
Now, shall we carry on?Quote:

It wasn't meant as an attack! Just someone was bound to find a series win for BMW that you'd missed.Quote:

If you mean who was second in the race that O'Dor won? It was his team-mate Win Percy.
This was the much publicised race where Julian Bailey and Will Hoy crashed out at Silverstone. When they changed the popular phase from 'The car in front is a Toyota', to, 'The car on it's roof is a Toyota'.
Does anyone know who also rolled his car at the same meeting?
Soper had a big off that race - can't remember if he ended upside down though?Quote:

tim harvy or was it menu rolled coming out of bridge ( should know i wasa there marshalling )
Yes, it was Mr Harvey in his Renault 19!
who crashed in to back of gravvet for the race to be stoped after his car had a small flash fire
Phil Dowsett?
I'm guessing it was Dowsett since I just saw it on Youtube with Murray's usual animated commentary.
Of course technically Gravett cut Dowsett off, the tyre wall doing the damage to the rear of the Trackstar Sierra, rather than the Corolla.
yes racer69 ,,
