Guy Wilks is being supported by Skoda UK for Rally Scotland:
http://www.rallye-info.com/article.asp?sid=0&stid=8309
I wonder if there is a chance they could extend their deal into 2010, similar to Peugeot UK/Kris Meeke?...
So Guy is not the BFG driver then.
VSF drive goes to Adam Gould. Best of a mediocre lot really.
Apologies, that obviously should have read BFG. Bloody auto correct!
I've seen Adam a few times now and he's always impressed me by how hard he is trying. He has had a few accidents so wish him and Seb the best of luck with this opportunity they have been given
That means an extra S2000, which is good! Hope to see some firework, so it will not be an easy walk from Meeke!
Gould is not on the same radar screen as Wilks, Meeke, and its not even best of the rest, as McShea etc, would have undoubtable been quicker drivers. It will be a real eye-opener for any young driver, they will be miles off the pace. The trick is to learn form it.
But Gould shouted to the world that HE WILL be UK's next WORLD RALLY CHAMPION .... lets see what he can do in Scotland IRC event :D
i sincerly hope he didnt? did he?Quote:

He did, on his website - "With a desire to achieve ultimate professionalism; talent, ambition, hard work and determination continue to drive Adam towards his ultimate goal – becoming Britain’s next World Rally Champion."Quote:

Entry is due out today, no?
To be fair there is a bit of difference between having an "ultimate goal", and stating HE WILL BE....Quote:

Wonder when the entrance list will be released.

no news about the list !?
Take Guy Wilks out of the list, he withdrew his BFG entry. You'd be very hard pushed to class the remaining names as anything other than mediocre. Although I am talking about drivers in world class competition. On a national level, I'll give it to you, perhaps mediocre is a touch harsh.
Tim Stebani from Germany will be in Scotland with the Opels Corsa S200 from MSD.
Still no news about entrylist, i suppose it should be known by now  :(
Have a little patience, it will come soon enough :)
So is Christmas. 9 days to go, should've been out by now. Let's hope tomorrow.Quote:

Martin Kangur is little surprise for me. He is the protege of Urmo Aava with Urmos co-driver Kuldar Sikk. He is driving the latest Civic R3 car. So, In Scotland it seems that the best thing can expect is the fight in 2WD. We have five S2000 cars but most probably only 2 of them are going to fight with each-otherQuote:

It's only the first Rally Scotland and the being the last in the series and Meeke's domination it got a bum deal but with a better (slightly) date next year it should be better.

Fiesta will break cover as as safety car with Wilson driving. Car will debut on RMC:

Hmmm, have to say the entry is poor.........
WT
Very thin list indeed !
Not always easy being last on the list, when everything is decided already. A bit sorry for the staff putting it toghether.
Cyprus is the last round next year. Maybe the Scottish organisers could have used some of the promotional budget to sweeten the entry list?
The entry is poor, but in IRC competing in all rounds is not compulsory and the championships are decided.
I am sure having it as penultimate round next year will make it better.
:mark:
But curious to see what Allister McRae can do in the Proton, though ;)
Wilks' Fabia: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/80120
Wilks vs. Meeke will probably be the most interesting aspect of Rally Scotland.
Have the Opel got any upgrades lately, or are they still just collecting data ?
Interesting to see the liveries of Peugeot UK and Škoda UK ;)
