WRR say that Latvala has lost 9 min. and it looks like he has rolled.
Latvala lost 9 minutes on stage 2, that's the end of his challenge for the win (or a podium). :(
Interesting to see if he can continue - two more stages and if car is damaged...
Rally is still very long and many things can happen again if the weather continues to be as bad AND if there aren't cancelled stages...
WHat happened in stage 1 ??? Hirvonen run the stage without the fog?
without the heavy rain apparently...Quote:

Latvala rolled 2 km's into ss2. Car not too badly damaged but lost a lot of time.
Seb spun on SS1, but Hirvonen was the only one to get through SS1 before rain and fog came down
Car not badly damaged can continue.Quote:

aaah ok....i think the battle for 1st is over if Hirvonen plays it safe...
Well Hirvonen answer the question in ss1Quote:

Sandell faster than Ketomaa on SS2 :)
Edit: but Prokop faster too :mark:
It will be interesting to see the times the second time through. By the sounds of it Miko had it easier as the road was not as cut up.
A note from wrc.com...Quote:

We’re working on a solution now and hope to resume our normal service very soon.
Thanks
And again, Atkinson overall faster than Solberg in the Subaru clan :s

Notes after stage 2
RAUTENBACH C. / SENIOR D. "It was really very tough, bad. I had no confidence to anything."
PERÉZ COMPANC L. / VOLTA J.-M. / "I don't like it, too much fog and mud. It will be very tough rally."
SOLBERG H. / MENKERUD C. "I saw nothing due fog. I tried, but impossible do anything. It's not normal to lost too much time on first stage."
GARDEMEISTER T. / TUOMINEN T. / "Lot of mud and fog. On first stage we broke something on exhaust, otherwise no problem. Just intercom troubles."
SORDO D. / MARTÍ M. "It's very hard, feel almost like in Wales. Loosing a lot to top drivers, road is destroyed. Otherwise everything good."
WILSON M. / MARTIN S. "Engine stalled twice on first stage. It was horrible, I didn't see road and had no confidence at all."
SOLBERG P. / MILLS P. "It's very, very tough. It's hard to get good times. We'll see tomorrow."
GALLI G. / BERNACCHINI "I saw nothing on first stage. Please, don't repeat. We'll see."
LATVALA J.-M. / ANTILLA "Two kms after start I hit a bank, car was kicked and rolled over. Spectators helped us go back to wheels, we had luck. Car not damaged, only windscreen and some cosmetics things."
ATKINSON Ch. / PREVOT S. "I expectet it probably. It's very tricky, road is worst and worst with every next car. We'll try push more."
LOEB S. / ELENA D. "Lot of fog and mud. I had hard tyres, no cuts. I spun in one hairpin. It was very hard and very tricky. Unable to see road and feel any grip."
Just looking at Sutton Photographic images from shakedown
http://www.sutton-images.com/
and on page 2 theres an image of Jorge Recalde, with the following comment:
To commemorate the 20th anniversary of Jorge Recalde (ARG), being the only latin american to win a round of the WRC, 1882 cardboard copies were spread over the sierras.
BIZARRE!
Because your team-mate is faster than you on some stages?? Then we will have a lot of retirements :DQuote:

He can easily finish up in the points. He is not that far from pointscoring positions. ;)Quote:
