Awesome, thanks!
The mitsi looks great Gardemesiter's livery looks quite nice and I hope Pons has some sponsors :p :
Just love the front of that Mitsu. It's great that we will see them in more rallies this year.
Like the way it's "5th door" opens))

Subaru Impreza WRC07 test with Atkinson in Sardegna/Italy for Mexico!
http://www.motorline.cc/rallye/index0.php?
I have a question: in the C4, can they see telemetry and stuff like that? 'Cause I don't see a display.
Oh yes!!
Atkinson was here with both the Imprezas, the 06 and the the 07, for a comparative test with the same tyres (Subaru tested last year on those roads in the centre of Sardinia with the Impreza 06 but of course it used Pirelli tyres).
Some friends of me were there but they couldn't know how the differences about the cars performances was....
anyone knows which is the utility of the spotlight that appears in some photos? In the front left area of the car. Here you can see:
http://usuarios.lycos.es/kernel_gdi/DSCN3005_resize.JPG
I think is some kind of sensor to measure paramaters like speed, ground height, etc... Am I right?
Strange.. never seen it before... measure road-temperature ? surface texture ? (hmm why is it placed inline with the front-wheel)
I would expect its a ground speed radar
is this only picture where you can see this light or are there any others?
Has anyone heard if any teams are testing in Haslemoen test camp in Norway iether private ore factory as both Subaru and Stobbart are testing i Sweden even if the test camp is free?
I don´t know what the lights is, but also Xsara test car have them on summer 2005 Rally Finland tests. On front and rear of car.
The correct answer is ground height...
(all teams use these in some tests)
Petter is testing S12B in Sardinia today, and in the weekend Subaru will do testing in Torsby,Sweden.
Yes....today Solberg is here in the North Sardinia, to another comparative test between Impreza 06 and 07, like every year before Mexico.
Some Sardinian roads look similar to Mexican ones, so Subaru every year uses these roads for pre-Mexico tests.
I saw some pics taken by some friends of me that were there and the two Imprezas look rather different outside, esepcially in the front side, but above all inside. The engine is very different even simply looking at it.
do you have any photos about testing in sardinia? i want to see new subbie
Some pics here with a bit of disguise:
http://www.ewrc.cz/2006/show.asp?clanek=5122
The boy who took the photos I wrote about showed me them in his notebook but as we met by chance we hadn't a cd or a usb pen to download them.
We'll meet again this weekend during a National Rally, so I'll be able to post them next Monday.
However the photos posted by ewrc.cz are rather expressive.
Ive got a theory...Quote:

Merit there?
Correvit make a range of sensors that use light as the key measuring tool.
http://www.corrsys-datron.com/Suppor...d_SFII-P_e.pdf
i used Correvit light sensors for years testing road cars, but haven't used this latest generation of tool.
a lot of the general test stuff moved from light to microwave sensors a few years ago, and now VBox uses satellite navigation to do a similar job (it can measure the minimal height differences from when you open the door, for example).
however the light sensors are still the most accurate to the most decimal places.
they can be used for distance, time and acceleration, obviously, and that can link back to another CAN bus to trace the line used by the car on any given piece of road.
not being able to see the unit, i can't tell you what it is exactly, but i'd be pretty sure it would be something like this.

I don't know exactly where the tests were held, but the roads look nice!
Who is this Donnelly? He is fast!
Ok, he knows the roads but the Subaru is not the Focus.
Impressive.
