Could Nasser win in a Buggy?!


Anything is possible on the Dakar I guess. However very little is known about the vehicle and team. If he does, it would be a rabbit out of the hat wouldn't it?

It's confirmed that Sainz & Nasser are going to be teammates in the Red Bull Team. The chosen car is a two-wheel drive buggy. This is Nasser's car:

As you said, Wevers has no particular interest in running a Mitsubishi.

In the case of Spinelli, yes as he is sponsored by Mitisubishi Motors Brasil.
But Spinelli is in priority list, and suported by manufacturer, so it is mandatory to use a production engine (T2 eligible engine).
Having Mr. Viardot (Ex Ralliart technical chief) being the man back to Spinelli´S ASX, and also Viardot having helped Wevers on the adaptation to Mustangs V8, I assume Spinelli runs the same Mustang V8, but will no be mentioned anywhere.

Spinelli said they are using an Aston Martin engine (I don't know if it's V8 or V6).

By the way, Mitsubishi Brazil is the official vehicle supplier for the Dakar, there will be almost 50 cars produced here in Brazil available for the staff of the event.

Aston Martin engine? that could be a wise move.
It is more acceptable for Mitsubisho to use a more exclusive engine than Ford or other real competitor. No Mitsu competes with an Aston Martin.

Aston Martin was Ford brand until recently, it may even have same base blocks an engines, but I am not an expert of aston Martin so no comments on that side

It would be nice to see if all competitors reveal basic spec of vehicles when the drivers list is published.

The Aston Martin V8 Vantage is equipped with a 4.7 liter V8 producing 420 bhp and 346 lbft torque. Perhaps this is the engine in Spinelli's Mitsu?
