To me, it was more like the old Portugal. ;)
I didn't find any problem. The stage was quite long, with many surfaces. It's true that some parts had too many (big) stones and others were too soft (mainly the one below), but as you said it's quite similar to what they will find in Argentina and also Portugal in the North. I don't know how many runs Neuville & Gilsoul did (I wasn't there when they began to drive), but the test followed the usual timetable (percentage of runs and stops) and attitudes of these events, including marshalls asking us about not taking photos or being near the car while the mechanics were working on it.
