No he would have crashed on day 1! His 9 Monte starts reads 4 ret, 1 7th 2 6th 1 5th and 1 3rd (last year). Not Petter's star event by any means.Quote:

Anyone who thinks Solberg or JML would be worse in the same car is simply wrong!Quote:

and for sure not 8 and 6+mins on loeb on the second day of the rally........
What makes You so sure? His past attempts in Monte Carlo were rather unsuccessful. From those recent in 2011 he was clearly slower than Hänninen, last year than Sordo in Mini. Also almost in every attempt he had some offs or crashes...Quote:

ok Guys ..
Apart from Loeb who is in a league of his own and he is the best ever next is Ogier and Petter.
you all mention that he crashed all the time and yet another driver with half Petters years in the WRC and maybe double the crashes has a factory seat and is tipped to be the world champ just because Malcolm Wilson always spoke highly of him.
Petter should have A FACTORY DRIVE THIS YEAR! period
Now the big question for tomorrow is Novikov, Sordo, Latvala - who has got the best black circular items still in the truck? Another 5 stages like the last 1 and it could be a very exciting time late on Saturday night. I wouldn't be surprised if Latvala and Ogier have been running different tyre strategies to ensure the team had at least one car in contention at all times. We shall see...
5 stages to go! nothing is decided...if weather prediction is right loeb will be snowplug tomorrow....fight for podium will be thrilling, 1 minute between novikov, sordo, latvala and hirvonen, i am afraid juho is out of this fight :(
my tip: loeb-ogier-sordo-latvala-novikov-hirvonen
Let's not turn this into a Petter fanboy debate. My issue is that Ostberg isn't good enough to be a lead factory driver, not that Petter doesn't have a seat. But both these debates should be in a different thread.Quote:

Hey who mentioned JML!! - his record isn't up for debate at the moment, I call that unnecessary mud-slinging. If that's the way this is going I suggest you look at % wins from no of starts :pQuote:

Happy with at least 1 stage win today for the Fords (a 1-2 on SS12) but I wonder why they are so inconsistant ?

Lets hope the new set-up works tomorrow... :)
Nice to see all the drivers at these famous hairpins before the village of Lachamp-Raphael:

Is there a video with him from the puncture or the accident that caused the retirement?Quote:

Excellent vid - great to see so many different cars, especially the various Subaru's and Evo's racing each other, and compare them to the WRC cars... :)Quote:

I believe the start of the above video was recorded at the same place that the photo below was taken (someone asked about the photo in the forum, I can't remember who). It could be the road before Saint Andeol de Fourchades, a few kilometres after Lachamp-Raphael.

Also only one retirement among WRC after a millage of normal WRC event. It shows the argument about nobody on stages to watch without superally have no relevant basis. It may be opposite that with SR crews take more risky approach than without it.Quote:
