Quite a shakeup in the 208 Cup after Terre de l'Auxerrois.
Both Abbring and Lefebvre chose this rally to use their 'joker' which would double the points they would score there.
Abbring retired on SS3 with a broken engine while he was 2nd behind Noel Tron (who crashed on SS3). Lefebvre took the lead but was in second position today, yet he still won because the leader, Matthieu Margaillan crashed 200 meters from the finish of the last stage!
So, before the rally Lefebvre was 36 points behind Abbring in the standings, but now he will be in the lead by 7 points because his points count double and he won most stages which earns him 3 points as well.
Really enjoyed my first "Terre de France", I'm surely go back in the future! Fantastic roads, nothing like we know in Belgium :)
Cuoq wasn't spectaculair, but obvisiously the fastest. Baud, Chieusse, Deveza etc. were really impressive!
In the 208 cup, Abbring, Tron, Martin, Lefevre, they were all full attack all the time. A pity Tron and Abbring had to retire. Margaillan drove very clean but fast, stupid he crashed in the end with a 40s lead...
The DS3 cup wasn't as spectacular as the 208 cup. Vigion and Dubert were visibly fastest, Demaerschalck only impressed me on the last stage.
Later today I will post some pictures!
Also had a great event. It's a unique championship indeed, quite strange that it gets only little attention, apparently FFSA doesn't want it to grow too much... Seen very spectacular things (as always on French gravel), especially the commitment of the drivers in trophies is stunning. The level of the 208 Cup is crazy, can't wait to see them again...

Close to the limit?? lol :D
Probably on last stage I think, he went there flatout!
Also Lefebvre on the limit there..

Does some privateer have a DS3 WRC or is it something similar?
This car was run by PH Sport, not owned by the driver. Van Merksteijn will also drive a DS3 WRC in a national event, but in The Netherlands (Hellendoorn Rally).Quote:

All DS3 are kept by Citroën. They only allow PH Sport to have these cars ... I think we will have to wait some long years before seeing a "private" DS3.Quote:

Just guessing, but Tomas Kostka?
No, not in CZ (but I don't rule out Kostka may drive it one day in the future).
More than one day, in Germany in a few weeks. :)Quote:

Now i am waiting Pluto to say that he knows who is. :D
Arzeno will make his comeback. He's driving the 3 remaining events of the French 208 Cup (Mont Blanc, Antibes and Condroz). Welcome back! :)
He will start this week end the rallye du Gap Racing, who has a nice entry list, with 6 S2000 !
First time in France, there will have two Fabia S2000. And one for Matthieu Margaillan, who was leading 208 Cup in Auxerre before retiring. There is too Nicolas Latil, last winner of french cup.
And Guigou with a Mégane N4 ! :)
Matthieu Margaillan is the one who bought car from Jan Černý?
Yes !
And Ganguet bought it in Slovakia.
Have they sold or will they sell a DS3 WRC to Felice Re?Quote:

His main opponents in Gap will be Latil and Barneaud, both in 207 S2000...
A critical view on what seems the current situation in the French gravel championship:

It has been like that for years... Not only on gravel, on tarmac also. 2 years ago in "Terre de Langres" we drove a stage on Friday, so before official recce. There were many signs of recce, such as huge cutting. Normally nobody is using thos roads, they are too brutal for a normal road car also... Concerning tarmac championship I heard similar stories from people who competed there. One codriver recently told me "The French are the biggest cheaters you can imagine." In Belgium people know about illegal recce, in France they don't. Same is happening in The Netherlands but there they manage to keep it quiet too... ;)
This week-end is Rallye terre de Lozère, next round of french gravel championship ;)
Bienvenue sur le site de Brennus Informatique for live results
Today should be published entrylist of Rallye du Mont-Blanc next round of french tarmac championship(held next week)
In Lozère after yesterday's leg one, Lionel Baud is leading in front of Manu Gascou and Jean-Marie Cuoq ;)
Great performance from Vincent Dubert 6th overall and leading CRT/2WDs
FFSA | Rallye Terre de Lozre - 2013
Even in French Cup illegal recce are done... in some part of France, as in Rhône Alpes (but not only there) it's local sport.Quote:
