If you take 6 at some point and "rotate" them during the section so that they get worn you will have to run on a few used tires on sunday. But usually not all tires are that used and most of sunday is cruising for a lot of people so that running on 1 or 2 slightly used tires is not a problem.
also they have to think about the punctured tyres

Much to our regret, it turns out the technical issue we had experienced during the evening section is unfixable even in the service. Rally Sardinia is over for us.
It stopped raining half an hour ago...and less wind also.
