To me it seems Tänak and Järveoja never talk during that bit
I think they have learned it (in hard way (?)). I remember some example from Poland (with Ford, whatever the year was) when rear aero just felt off, then it was (understandable) pure frustration and he sent everyone to everywhere. It's probably easier to swallow those emotions and get rid of them later on some other way than trying to beautify your words later.
Got a promo email saying something exciting is coming up in 2020.
Could that be WRC+ that works :D
Molly, Abby and Kiri are all pregnant. What's going on there during rallies? :-)
Doubt they'd hype a non commentary option that much, if that ever gets introduced it will be done with minimal fuss as not to take too much away from the current commentators they pay for.
Would be cool if you could select what live onboards you want to watch and maybe follow a certain driver (or two split screen) live, but that is probably impossible to do?
At least with a choice of onboard it would be with pure sound.
I guess they switch to @50fps ... finally, after years of filming in 50fps they will show it for us. It's really "exciting" for sure
Hoping for some ex-drivers resident commentators, like in Red Bull TV show.
What you think about the new presenter woman, having English level of Suninen and seemingly very light knowledge from WRC?
WRC+ crew isn't going to right direction. Like said above, e.g. they could have ex-drivers in the studio and out there. Also Molly was great presenter as being race driver herself and Anders Grondal's wife. Kiri seems to have always good energy and attitude overall, being in top of situations 95% of the time.
she is plain horrible
id like to see all new faces there, tired of them all actually
oh god thats the last thing i wanted to hear...
All presenters pregnant, so they search some non-pregnant people and then find how many knowledge they have about rallying.
Thanks that Julian non-pregnant and bring some competence to studio :)
this two girls should seat somewhere. Please give a mic to Colin and than real show starts
At least Kiri speaks fluently while Leticia seems kinda retarded lol
She has to stand in front of the camera or follow the reporters while not getting to speak most of the time. That's guaranteed awkwardness.
Yeah this setup really didn't work. Colin didn't seem to know what he was doing there or didn't wish to play ball, Leticia has neither the depth of knowledge in the sport or enough familiarity with the English language to just 'wing it' in a scenario like this. Kiri was fine, as she can just keep talking and keep the thing going.
That Leticia is a treat to look at but my god when she opens her mouth it's unpleasant. I'm not a native english speaker myself but her accent is really unpleasant to listen to.
If they want to add some eye candy to the studio there must be presenters out there who tick both boxes - are hot and also know what they're talking about. And speak english as a first language.
Accent isn't worse thing. But she don't know what to talk, and than speak veeeerrryyyy sloooowwwllyy and this annoying the most!
Yeah... no... next presenter to test out please!
Needs to be an english speaking or at least someone who sounds a bit smarter...
They need fire two of this four. Jon and this new girl and things will improve straight away
Apparently the Promoter is boosting WRC promotion in South America; that's probably why Rally Chile organizer is interviewed on a regular basis and we’re now forced to get some lines in spanish and take lovely Leticia hopeless comments...thank gods Ciesla isn’t (yet) focused on China.
Disappointed not to see Tanak's arrival to service park to be shown in WRC+.
Yeah, they could show Meeke and Latvala, but not Tanak.
We should really hope that WRC+ does not bring for 2020 any stupid "updates", like 2019 the on screen graphics updates (revs and tyres) or other digital gimmic shit.
WRC+ should respect the subscribers more. Most of the WRC+ spectators are quite likely hard core rally fans and it would make sense to improve the real core product:
- Network / broadcast technical reliability, for example downtime, heartbeat problems, getting the TV app working and many more
- Reduce the delay in "live" image
- 4K Video quality
- Better incar audio quality
- Pure sound option always available
- Possibility to choose which car to follow live
- Possibility to follow cars or service park instead of studio
- Mandatory to keep intercom on at off stage mode
- Maybe also automatic high quality "webcams" from services and service park instead just showing rotation or cutting the broadcasts short
- All presenters with brains and understandable communication skills. To be able to give some added value presenter have to have more WRC knowledge than WRC+ spectators, even the ones with pretty face
- Keep bringing the current and ex WRC professionals to studio and ask new tight questions from them, questions that have not been in motorsport media before
Fixing all this should be quite basic task comparing to something what "something exciting" is most likely going to be..
Jape, 4K is still pointless on big scale. High quality Full HD is still more than enough considering the equipment people use. Instead of 4K it should be better image quality. Think KKS or someone brought out a few times that the WRC+ feed that we see is 1280x720, so not even HD really. And sometimes the images broadcasted look worse than SD. Btw, SD is 1024x576 (PAL) and 720 is 1280x720, so not a very big difference in resolution change.
But of course the onboard image quality is also down to the data bandwidth they use and I'm sure all of us would agree, it's better to get something in lower quality than have the feed interrupted every few seconds and possibly lose something significant.
One point that would be wise to do is to treat the rally weekend on WRC+ like a normal TV channel, so you don't have random amount of empty minutes between stages where you show a slideshow on repeat. Fill the gaps, keep the viewer engaged and it should be a better experience for the viewer in return.
Mike Chen and Andrew Coley would be excellent choice. I must say this exotic chick is a waste of resources. Also keep Colin, Julian and this welsh guy. Kiri and Molly are away for a long period I think, but they're OK as well. Others are just not my cup tea.
