In Germany, Eifel Rallye, after first and only stage off today:
1. Van Eldik 7'51"8
2. Wevers at 1"3
3. Van Merksteijn at 9"6
4. Kleinjan at 12"4
5. Kahle at 13"0
6. Van Merksteijn Jr at 13"4
7. Dobberkau at 18"8
8. Gassner at 26"5
8. Kuypers at 26"5
10. Weys at 28"3
In 10th position so is Weys with his C2R2Max, Burkart is in 15th place at 34"0, and Ogier in 18th place at 36"8. Quite a good performance of Weys and a little bit of a surprise to me. ;)
Weijs is a promising driver. Earlier this year, he did an 11th fastest stage time with a Volkswagen Polo (N1 or N2), alongside many WRC and Group N4 entries. Still, a good start for him of course.Quote:

Why is SS4 late ???
Andreucci and Campedelli are flying on the Rally San Crispino after two stages
The S2000s are in pain(Travaglia retired, Navarra and Rossetti are tight but are more than 21s late on Andreucci, the others are far behind,...) :s
Odlozilik isn't at the start of SS4
On Kopna lot of accidents, it is home event for most of czech drivers and everybody is going very fast... Odlozilik retired after SS 3 due to mechanical problem.
Victory at the Rallysprint Kopna for Roman Kresta in front of Jaromir Tarabus and Grzegorz Grzyb ;)
All S2000s finished in front :p :
The opposite of Rally San Crispino in Italy where they really struggle compared to classic GrNs... :mark:
After 4 stages huge lead for Andreucci in front of Campedelli, Navarra, Rossetti, Aghini, Cantamessa, Medici, Trentin, Martelli, ...
And the road position doesn't explain the situation as only two stages are the first leg(repeated three times)
Andreucci is again showing to others, that he is the master of gravel stages ! Interesting battle for third position among two S2000 drivers-Navarra and Rossetti. Travaglia already out !
I always thought that Navarra is the master of gravel stages in Italy? But maybe that was with Subaru and not Fiat...
It seems that is was a good preparation for Kresta for Barum Rally.Quote:

@ Jarek, Navarra is not so fast as in the past. We have seen that in IRC 2007 too.

Wim, I'm sharing your opinion about the Italians. I was pretty dissapointed in Navarra last year, although he was sometimes unlucky. And yes, Ucci is the best! Never understood why FIAT didn't keep that guy.
Was in Germany today in the Eifel Rally, what a nice rally, it was the first time I've been there! Apparantly a great battle in Deutsche Rally Meistershaft, because the first three 1) Gassner 2) Kahle 3) Dobberkau where at the finnish in less than 10secs!!! All three drivers showed some very spectacular driving, probably due to the battle, pitty Gassner won again, cause he was allready in the lead of the German championship.
The Dutch WRC's in Eifel were nice as well, although some of the guys still need to read the manual :-) Also S1600 was very excting, Burkar was 10 secs ahaed of Ogier, that promises for Rally Germany in a few weeks!
In England, Rally Isle of Man, Mark Higgins took his fourth win, and becomes a joint recordholder. Despite Eamon Boland having a strong return, thanks to the dry roads of today, Higgins managed to keep just enough margin to take the overall win in his Subaru Gr.N. Wilks took third, after he crashed on stage 8 yesterday, but managed to pass David Higgins to make it to the third step of the podium.
1. Higgins M. 2h40'18"8
2. Boland at 11"6
3. Wilks at 3'45"7
4. Higgins D. at 5'19"4
5. Wozencroft at 9'34"8
6. Gass at 10'25"3
At the historic rally it was Jimmy McRae who took convincing victory in his Stobart Porsche 911.
Final results in Eifel Rallye in Germany:
1. Wevers 1h20'21"0
2. Van Eldik at 38"1
3. Van Merksteijn jr at 1'38"1
4. Van Merksteijn at 1'45"4
5. Gassner at 2'36"8
6. Kahle at 2'42"2
7. Dobberkau at 2'45"6
8. Kuypers at 3'50"6
9. Gassner jr at 3'52"2
10. Van den Heuvel at 3'59"8
13. Burkart at 4'34"8
14. Ogier at 4'44"8
19. Weys at 6'39"3
After day 1 in Rally di San Crispino, Italy, gravel event, after 6 stages, with 9 short stages to go tomorrow, Andreucci took all stage-wins today:
1. Andreucci 1h09'11"4
2. Campedelli at 31"0
3. Rosetti at 44"2
4. Navarra at 44"3
5. Aghini at 1'22"3
6. Medidi at 1'51"0
I think nobody will be able to beat Andreucci tomorrow, interesting fight between Rosetti and Navarra. Chentre is leading two wheal drive categorie and is 18th overall. ;)
Final results in Kopna Rallysprint, Czech Republik:
1. Kresta
2. Tarabus at 1'20"2
3. Grzyb at 1'24"5
4. Petak at 1'33"7
5. Jelinek at 1'51"2
6. Gavlak at 2'20"9
The S2000 cars were dominating the event, unfortunally the top Gr.N drivers were not there. ;)
yes...Quote:

Ucci is doing what he can do best-winning special stages!! He should once show his knowledge in a PWRC race, I think Arai, Aigner, Araujo,Hanninen and Co. would not have any smile on their face.....
Navarra had very bad season in 2007, but this year he already won one race and he is showing some progress-but his best years were when he drove turbo-charged cars (WRC or N4 suby&mitsu), and he admit that !
Did anybody notice our Slowenian driver in his small Fiesta ST ?? He his after stage nine on third position in a front whell class !!! Chentre is leading with Citroën C2 S1600, second is Clio R3, and than already Marko Jeram!! Impressive !!
With only one stage to go, Andreucci is still well in the lead and took again all stage wins. Rosetti is still in third and has a small margin over Navarra. ;)
All stage wins? Today he did 2, 4 for Rosetti, one for Navarra and Cavalinni. But, he has a cussions of more than 30 secs one stage to go. :DQuote:

5. Travaglia 20 Pts

7. Cavallini 15,5 Pts
8. Campedelli 8 Pts
9. Perico 6,5 Pts
10 Aghini 4 Pts

Good to hear you enjoyed the rally in Germany, HaCo. Thanks for sharing your impressions. Is Kahle driving Porsche these days?
Yes, he is since the beginning of this season. But he didn't make too good results, only now his first good result in Eifel Rallye. ;)
Few pictures from South-Estonia rally: http://recce.pri.ee/album127/fotod.html :)
I just returned from Kopná. It's been great weekend and great rally!
Kresta was quite dominating and after very long time it was clear that he was enjoying the rally as much as possible. He was very spectacular as well. Before the rally he was very unsatisffied with setup of the car from Toth. They were changing setup almost 2 hours between test drives. But after that the car was working well for him and he was happy with it. He said that Lancer was not a racing car compared to Peugeot which is great fun to drive. he said it was more fun to drive it than Peugeot 206 WRC he was driving in 2003. He also said that during the rally he was testing different settings and various tyres even though he knew that such tyres are not the best for current conditions.
It was a pity of Grzyb's mistake in SS1. He would be second for sure. Kopná is specific event where there local drivers are in huge advantage and is very hard to defeat them. In this case Peták must be sattisfied as he got the biggest number of poits from regular sprint runners (and Grzyb takes no points), much more than leading Josef Semerád (both of them are not local). Odložilík retired with broken propshaft.
Funny thing is that Tlusťák run out of fuel on the last radio point of the rally :D But he wasn't able to defeat Minařík in Fabia Kit Car even though he went last stage and 3 km of penultimate one without power steering. Both of them are local. Tlusťák lives on stage Raková, Minařík on stage Kopná...
Good to see Cserhalmi back in car. He may be starting on Barum rally. Grzyb confirmed Barum rally start with Punto.
