Demaerschalk + 13 min on stage 2... Not a good start for my fellow countryman.
Abbring on an excellent pace again! 18 seconds in the lead after two stages :)
Yes, Flying Dutchman on fire!!! I'm surprised by Cherain, faster than Martin, Lefebvre and Consani. Tyre choice???Quote:

Yep indeed surprised by Chérain too
I was expecting Abbring to be fastest of the 208 Cup, but in te top10...wow
Very gutted by Demaerschalk mistake(off SS2)otherwise he was even faster than Robert on SS4, 5 and 6 ;(
Battle for the win very exciting aswell! Brunson leading with 2.4 secs in front of again a very strong Julien Maurin!

In less than one hour starts the second leg...
Cuoq seems to have found the right rythm today, after first stage of the day he takes the overall lead of the rally.
Cuoq seems to have found the right rythm today, after first stage of the day he takes the overall lead of the rally, in front of Maurin who is now second and Brunson in third. ;)
Look at Abbring's time on the frist stage, 6th time on the board!!! What is the weather like today?
See this, VW? :D
No more Brunson after second stage of the day???

Good for Maurin. I'm starting to like French championship more and more. Also every evening resume of the rally, including cups. Well done ffsa, FIA can learn from that!

I see Cuoq is in the lead now.
Cherain not doing bad, only Abbring is in front of him with 50sec in the same car.

I guess the 4th time of Demaerschalck is an error?
Verstuurd van mijn ARCHOS 80G9 met Tapatalk
Don't think so..
Looked at the times of the other stages, you must be right. Fabulous time from him then!!! Wonder what he encountered on ss2 where he lost 13 mins?

Some electrical problem for Abbring on SS10, car was running on 3 cylinders some times. He stopped and lost 20 seconds. SS11 went better, still in the lead. Service now.
A shame that Maurin had a puncture, the battle for the overall lead is over now.
Chérain is setting amazing times also, coming close to Abbring now. Also great performance by DeMaerschalck but he lost a lot of time with an off on stage 2.
oh for sure no, FIA don't have to take our championship in example.Quote:

Limousin is a bit in the Center, but for the rest ... when a new round has to be chosen, they choose Mâcon, which is very closed to Lyon, whereas there are beautiful races in all part of the country, as in La Rochelle.
And for sure the calendar could be better organized geographically speaking, because beautiful races are not all in South East. Using coeff 5 rallies in French Cup to do a rotation, and it could be perfect, including all parts of France.
In a second way, there is some stupid coefficients. On 9 rounds, two are coeff 1. WHy Coeff 1 ? Because the organizers aren't in good term with FFSA. :) The Rallye Lyon Charbonnière had coeff 1, but he has the best entry list for the moment in French Champ, and is one of the favourite rally of all drivers...
Then, we can talk about the way to do the classification. I have no problem with point for classes. It's good for drivers who can't afford big cars. But ... it is done by the most stupid way. When in a class there is less than 3 drivers involved, points are divided by two (logic, it's easiest to win your class when you are alone), except if you are in the Top 10 of the rally. As you know, a driver has to registered to take point in championship.
But ... to know how many cars there is in a rally, FFSA counts all cars taking part to the event - and not only the one who subscribed for the championship.
So since the beginning of the year, Gatti is taking all points in A7 category as he is the only one from this category, and other drivers entered races, but aren't registered.
So he has 30 pts, and will have 20 more this week end ... and you can have a guy in another category, alone too, but with only 2 times less points than him, because there wasn't other cars starting the rally outside of the championship ...
Then, subscribe to the championship ... is that logic ? Amateur drivers have to paid, and it costs a lot for them. Instead of running less and less km, maybe delete this would attract more amateur drivers.
So yes our championship is quite good, he has nice trophies, good drivers, etc etc ... but there is a lot of things to change.
epic battle in Opel Cup. Jouines is leading by 1"5 ahead of Bonato before the last stage

Abbring extended the gap in the final two stages and wins :) Really good rally again + 7th overall
I think Cherain made a mistake of had a flat tire on the penultimate stage and with that losing the 2nd place on the final stage to Lefebvre :(
Really a difficult corner...

This time Eric Brunson didn't want the stage to be stopped to get his car out, apparently :D

A really interesting battle in France indeed, almost as interesting as in Croatia. 4 top drivers in a margin of 7 seconds. Although it's quite strange that a WRC driver can't beat a Super 2000 car.
There was, this week end in Picardy, a beautiful Off Road Rally event. It is part of the OffRoad Rally Championship. Buggy are incredibly powerful, fast, and spectacular. If you can see this, go ! It is difficult to describe, maybe there will be nice video online :)
