Nobody said what you mentioned isn't true, did they? But it doesn't change the fact that the fewer rallies you have, the more luck you need. If you have a technical dnf then it plays a bigger role than during a normal season. Skill wins in the long run, but the smaller the samplesize, the higher the variance.
