Wow, very interesting move. Stuart Oliver to the BTCC. Other than both having four wheels I'm not sure there's too much similarity between his MAN lorry and the Lexus. Still it will be interesting to see how he does.

That's what I was wondering but feared being shot down in flames.Quote:

Massive credit for what I see from my vantage point as a very bold move but to add to the obvious physical and handling differences between a car and a truck, as the article says a truck weighs more than 5 tonnes and developes more than 1000hp. Again as the article says, it is a world away.
Still, that is nothing against the guy. I hope he really does well.
Good luck to Stuart for the 2008 season. Just hope he doesnt get articulated at Paddock Hill bend...!
Its great to see our new signing has gain some interest, I would like to correct some points:
I hope you will welcome Stuart to the BTCC and offer support and encouragement.
- Stuart is still competing in Truck racing as well as joining our team in the BTCC.[/*:m:hf1cuqqw]
- Stuart's brings vast racing craft, a clear understanding of how to develop and be part of a winning team, which he will pass on to our team.[/*:m:hf1cuqqw]
The team is very excited at the opportunity to work with Stuart and we are looking forward to a positive season with two very good drivers to move us further up the grid and hopefully onto the podium.
Plus we are all looking forward to joining Stuart at a Truck race to cheer him on and watch in awe
Best Wishes to all
I doubt it will take Stuart that long to adjust to racing the Lexus.
I'm sure he drives a car on the road all the time.
...And arguably he is one of the best drivers in British motorsport over the last decade. He is certainly one of the most successful!
I said i would keep people informed . I can confirm we will run an Astra Coupe in 5 rounds this year teh rounds being Rockingham,Oulton, Donington, Croft and Silverstone.
Thanks
Whose going to be driving the car?
When will the official press release go out?Quote:
