You mean those drivers sitting in 4th and 5th while several others are out of the rally?
Latvala said he has been driving on a setup too stiff for the conditions because of the starting problem they had to spend the time fixing instead of adjusting the suspension. Might be better in the second loop.
Sordo never seems very fast in mixed/inconsistent conditions, he is better when grip is more predictable.
What are the conditions for tomorrow's stages?
4 of the new WRC cars already out of the rally or points by the end of SS5, if that rate of attrition continues it could mean that Breen or Mikklesen be on the podium.
I think FIA must close the stages for general public and crate Designated areas for them. For the rally fans, some kind of certification process should be established (testing mental and intellectual capabilities). Only certified people should be allowed to access the Special Stages. Control should be in place, and certified people banned if they don't comply. Agree, tasers and handcuffs is another good idea.
Any of the top 5 drivers could still win this rally the way things are going at the moment.
Neuville in great form so far, hope he can keep this pace for the afternoon loop en coming days!
Seems to me the 2017 WRC's are pretty close to each other in speed. Toyota is faster than we tought.
Can Meeke and Hanninen superraly?
Latvala should just aim to finish 4th and not take any risks on the Toyotas debut .
Not entirely realistic (says the guy who suggested to shoot stupid rally fans).
While I really enjoy that you can just turn up to RMC and spectate, maybe they should evaluate a system with rally passes and very strict marshalls that have the ability to cancel the rally pass of anyone that doesn't follow protocol. This situation has gone too far.

I like to see the best drivers in WRC cars. If they have a friendship let the guy drive some local rally s. Don't bore us with such a drive.
Mikkelsen is laughing his ass off in 7th place with an R5 between the 370hp WRC:)
Abbring should not be driving for a factory anymore. To much crashes not the talent we thought it would be.
If i would have WRC team i would call Kalle Rovenpera and give him a contract. He need a few more years but i would give him a contract for sure.

Small, but costly error. Apparently @JuhoWRC touched this tree inside of a hairpin enough to break his #YarisWRC. Picture by @eetuhellsten.

The trouble is, places like Spain and Italy marshalls only understand 'strict' and have no conception in many cases of what the full range of effective marshalling involves - hell, they don't even use whistles as a warning for approach, preferring to use them in traffic cop mode for spectator control!!
What a fantastic weekend for Citroen. Meeke should know better.
Probably the guys that are now being harsh to Evans were the same that during ’15 and early ‘16 said Neuville was finished…give Evans a break, he got what it takes and did a pretty good job last year in WRC2 and BRC. On the demanding Irish stages he was as fast as Breen, despite using DMack’s.
Btw, after so many unpleasant posts on Makinen and his staff over the last months, it’d be nice to see now more people praising their fine work. Well done Tommi!
About spectator control... wasn't that mentioned somewhere, that in France road rallies are free for spectators by law?
And hence, no strict control measures?
Those 2 guys are on the limit

The outside of a corner is always the most dangerous for a spectator. And in a rally with with slippery roads like Monte it naturally makes the outside bend even more dangerous.

But as Tomas Fuller said:" You can give a good advice. But who can give the intelligence to follow it?"

Despite all the posts about how irrelevant MC is for evaluating car and drivers at this point in time, we have seen enough to do some conclusions.
1. Ogier is fast and competitive with Ford as well. Something I didn't expect.
2. Toyota is fast enough to mix with the rest. Something I did expect.
3. Citroen and Hyundai have shown the speed to be on par with Ford and Toyota, or event better.
In short, I think we have 4 equally prepared and fast teams for 2017.
Think there are a few unfair posts about Evans seeing as this is his first year back in a properly quick car and clearly the DMack tyres aren't as good. He's previously proved that hes a quick driver with a number of good results (in a dog of a Fiesta), but he needs time in the car. It's took Andreas nearly years of driving a top car before he managed to get a win so I think it's right that he's given more than 5 stages on a tricky rally before people say he's s**t.
