well ... nice place, but the owner of the house must be happy ... and after we are surprised that people don't want rallies behind their doors.Quote:

Then 3 "Régional" rallies.
Too were quite interesting. First of all, the Rallye Draguignan made its comeback. There was at the start Arzeno with a 207 S2000 (Pitstop). Against him another S2000 (Desidelli, Drakko Sport). Some interesting crews in 2WD : Magnou (206 S1600) and Audirac (DS3 R3). It was not so easy for Arzeno who faces some difficulties against Magnou and Desidelli, but at the end he won, behind Magnou and Desidelli, for his first run in S2000.

Other interesting Régional was Les Vins du Gard. Nicolas Bernadi was back in rally with the Fiesta S2000 of Maurin (he is Maurin's coach). Nicolas Liron with the ex-Macek Corolla finally didn't start, the car isn't ready. Against Bernardi, no one ... Salinas, winner of Twingo R2 trophy, started with Mégane, and made a good race. But it was impossible for him to fight against Bernardi's Fiesta. It's Daiel Nicolas with Clio R3 who finshed third, but there was a nice fight btw him, Janel (C2 S1600), Antherieux (Clio R3) and Masclaux (Clio Maxi).

And the last was the Rallye 24 Dordogne Périgord. Some good drivers but nothing extraordinary. Anthony Mora with his 318 Compact won quite easilly in front of Lerosier (Escort), and Robineau (Mégane RS) who took advantage of the retirement of Maurat (Golf KC).

For those who don't know, National are most important rallies in French Cup, with coeff 3, 4 or 5. WRC are allowed (and GT+ too, but it's link with french championship participation), and in some rallies, you can come from another country. The Régional's are the less important, coeff 1 and 2. They are shorter than National's, and WRC aren't allowed. And of course, it costs less.
Next week there will be Rallye d'Epernay, very important race in North part of France !
Pre-entrylist Rallye terre des Causses(gravel championship)available on rallye terre des causses (engagés)...
A fantastic entry for the french 208 Cup(19 crews) :bounce:
Note Belgian Cédric Chérain among them ;)
My ultra favourite is Noël Tron(the fastest young driver on french gravel to my mind)
I think Consani, Lefebvre and Privé will battle for the win in dthe 208 cup. Maybe Tron will be able to join them, but I don't think so...Quote:

Dubert and Millet have experience on gravel, Martin not sure(he ran Twingo R1 cup on tarmac past years) ;)
But now sure, new favourite is Abbring :D
carbonaro back with 206 WRC :) for sure he will not run for victory, but it's nice to see him come back ! and Jacquot with 207 S2000, as finnish Saku Vierimaa (Fabia) :)
as usual the level in the peugeot Cup is
And I can't wait the battle btw Chicherit and Cuoq for the win :p
Drivers for the 208 cup is phenomenal is almost more interesting than the overall battle! :D
WOW !!!! Cédric Hennion will drive...a DS3 WRC in french gravel championship this year !!!
Interesting, according to Rallye-Magazine, two finnish drivers(Max Vatanen and Jussi Punumäki)are thinking about entering the french 208 Cup ;)
In 3 events... ;) Not the complete championship. Nice addition but not a real contender for the championship... ;) About the 208 Cup, at the moment, the best way to be seen by manufacturers is joining a cup/trophy like that... But I think they have more to loose than to win :)Quote:

Does somebody know what happened to Abbring on SS1? He lost 13 seconds there, but the next 2 stages were a lot better.Quote:

Cuoq didn't dominate the event and was slower than Baud's whale on te two first stages, before taking the lead after SS3(21km long) :D
Chieusse and Jacquot are following already with big margin behind...
Problems with brakes and notes for Chichérit on his Mini explaining the huge loss he got :mark:
In the 208 Cup Consani is leading in front of Lefèbvre and Martin...Abbring 5th of the cup, and very good job by Gago for the first time outside Portual
How old (young) is he? He already won the Saxo T4 Trophy in 2002...Quote:

Good pace of Abbring, nice :)
Diogo Gago, just started racing 3 years ago! First year he got ups and downs, won the last race in the Fastbravo (Seat Marbella) trophee! In 2011 was the man to beat in the Fastbravos, won 4 out of 5 events in tarmac (his favorite surface) and 2 out of 4 in gravel! Last year he switch to the Modelstand Cup and dominate like no other the Championship! 6 wins out of 7 events(2nd in the one he didn't win), but only 6 goes to the classification so he score top points all year long! He finish 1st in the 2RM category and 2nd in the Junior behind a guy that drives a Lancer Evo VI Gr.A. In the last rally in his hometown he drove a C2 R2Max to 2nd overall in the stormy, foggy and rain conditions!
I know all this because we started racing the same year (i'm a codriver) and allways on the same cups! Really nice guy, and very fast, due to his mental strengh! In Portugal recces are free, you do as much as passes you want, but Diogo only passes twice like in WRC even if he knowed that he was learning less the stage than other guys! Trust the co-driver that is one of the best here, and the notes!
Hope you're enjoying see him go, I know I am, and believe that he will be faster next times out (he only tested friday night a few km)
Cheers
Looks like Charles Martin is setting great times again! Another young talented driver to keep an eye on in the next couple of years... Regarding his experience he is doing really great, if his name was Sébastien he would be a future world champion. :D
for sure Martin is the revelation of this beginning of season in France ! Great times in the Touquet, great again here ... I wish him all the best !
I believe you mean Jussi Kumpumäki :)Quote:

Anynews what happened to Vincent Dubert on stage 8? Seems to have lost almost 15 minutes.
