The power stages in 1999 were taken into condsideration for the overall classification like a normal stage. And like you say, a retired driver could rejoin for the last special stage.

@ Barreis : There was no power stage in Catalunya 99, Corsica and Finland only.

About power stages, i remember Corsica 99 was the 206 WRC's first outing, the little lion never saw the finish line but it was quick straight out of the box. BTW, i wish Mini the same speed.
I have a video of the Corsica SS17 (powerstage TV), Delecour was in full action when the 206 suddenly slowed down due to electronic gremlins. That's history, almost vintage :)

well BDunnell, 10 stage wins is hardly struggling is it? I'd say that the cars were very equal but Ford had an advantage regarding the road position on Friday's stages.

Wow, what a great rally to start the 2011 season.I was lucky enough to spectate at the rally and the cars exceeded my expectations.They sound great ,still look lightening fast, and require more driver input resulting in side ways driving.I have to say it was great to see Mikko getting the win he badily needed.It was the first time for Mads to show what he can do in a competitive car and Latvala as always pushing to and beyond the limit.I thought Loeb looked like he needs a bit more time in the car before he trusts it 100 % .
Hopefully the cars will stay equal so we can look forward to a great season.On another topic the rally conditions were perfect,and i can'y beelieve the size of some of the snow banks.The temperature hit - 28 on sunday morning and i have to say i have never experienced anuything like it.
Also after having watched the u.k coverage on ESPN today, they have got off to a good start and i am sure will improve with each rally.

Great video Ross, very enjoyable. The first one I've seen that really shows the speed and the constant opposite lock. The way rally cars should be driven! Thanks.

It is clear that you didn't see the onboard of Latvalla, he clearly stopped before finishline and waited about 10 sec.

Anyone who can tell why Henning was out? i know he did a spectacular sidewalk, but the main reason is for me unknown.

One more comment on RS is that I think Kimi did a well respected drive in the rally!
