I still think the Peugeot will be more than competitive on the smoother tarmac events to come (Madeira and Sanremo) The Skoda's big advantage seems to be when the going is rouger or there are ditches to traverse as Mirek touched on - Reiger suspension of the Ford and Skoda keeps all the wheels in contact with the ground!

I guess this is an advantage of the Skoda's super-torquey engine. They can maintain decent accelleration whilst having a higher top speed.

Our plan was for a finish, after the last 2 attempts in the Fiesta,, so were off the pace somewhat, but the car ran well, with no problems, bar the intercom volume !! a couple of bent rims, big stall at the bales in Nieuwkerke, etc etc

The first couple of stages, had dead and bent cars all over the place, along with a fair bit of scenery damage were others had regained the road !!
