To be fair, Solberg was pretty unlucky here.
"It’s so annoying,” said Solberg. “Two punctures and you don’t know where it was. Everyone else is like ‘I had a moment, I had a moment’... and they don’t get anything.”

Tough images from Luky's onboard in the eurosport day1 program, for sure hardest day for his codriver
One Solberg puncture you clearly see on the highlights he just runs over something in the road. No fault of his.
Some other meaning in this late night tweet ?

I would like to thank our partners for their support - to Citroen Racing and Total, to Saintéloc and to Pirelli - they support us quite a lot and give proper tools to make a proper performance. Thanks to all our sponsors, to everyone who makes our performances possible.
Good battle between Oliver and Devine.
After SS10 Oliver jump up by +0.4
SS11 Oliver drop down to -0.2
Breen is not up to fight today, so its Mikkelsen's rally to lose now.
Ohh.. comon
FIA European Rally Championship leader Alexey Lukyanuk admits his thirst for perfection makes it harder for him to control his frustration during the heat of battle.
Lukyanuk was furious after discovering he’d been handed a five-minute penalty for an early check-in prior to stage six, which wrecked his hopes of Rally Hungary victory in an instant and has also harmed his bid to win the ERC title for a second time in his Saintéloc Junior Team Citroën C3 R5.
“I need to take some anger management because sometimes I go mad when things go wrong,” the Russian said. “I am upset with my reaction to that. I need to be smoother on people and smoother on situations. I cannot control everything but I want to. I am a perfectionist and even small things make me mad. In future I will work on that.”
Of his strategy for Rally Hungary’s second leg and his title chances, Pirelli-equipped Lukyanuk explained: “I’m trying to focus on positive things. In terms of rally [what happened yesterday] it’s absolutely not the way it should be. I don’t want to get any pleasure from problems from others but for the championship Oliver’s problems with tyres played in our hands. It would be much more stressful should he be somewhere in the top three.
“I know he will build some places today but for the championship it’s not so bad as I thought in the beginning. All my emotions calmed down because it’s not possible to maintain a high level of thrills inside so I become a bit empty and slept well. We need to finish the job. We have tough stages today so we need to focus on that and that’s it.”

Can someone explain to me why the penalty for early check in is so harsh? Rules are rules, but in this case the punishment does not seem to fit the 'crime'
Mistakes happen and there should be a penalty but to completely to ruin someones rally for this feels wrong.
It's a rookie mistake, maybe a harsh penalty but it's always been like that. The 1' per 1' too early applies not only in rallying but in all kind of navigation sports. No reason why this should be changed. If you check in 5 minutes early, it's because you are really not paying attention.

This weekend, we will have discovered a new discipline: "asphalt" rally, with "asphalt" tires (logical so far) but without ever seeing asphalt !
Gutted for Luky and Breen. P4 seems in Solberg reach. Nice show from Mikkelsen and Munster so far.
If that section1 pace continue we will have possibly fight even for P2. +/-10 sec at the end could be.
Good stage-time from Munster now. Without punctures or errors from his side, nobody should be able to take his 2nd place.
It is tough when a simple co-driver timing error can potentially cost a driver a rally and even a championship. No wonder Lukyanuk was so angry.
Seems he calmed down later and realised he owed it to his sponsors to make the best of the situation which is still quite strong vs Solberg.
The poor co driver was having a meltdown too...terrible atmosphere
Solberg needs 0.7s to take 4th on the last stage.
EDIT - He got it.
Shame for Herczig to lose a podium at home through a puncture.
Lukyanuk won day 2.

Very strong performance by Mikkelsen, taking an easy win.
Very solid performance from Mikkelsen indeed. Hasn't lost his speed and he was very consistent at the same time, didn't expect him to do this well.
