Devine rolled. Tough start to his ERC career continues.
Breen lost a lot of time on SS7
Amazing pace from Solberg!
Solberg has more than doubled his lead this morning.
Seems Lukyanuk isnt bothered he's just getting points for the Title. If Solberg was was doing the whole Ch'ship it would be a great battle.
or maybe Luky just isn´t fastest driver in world.
He is fast but maybe not fastest Rally2 driver.
Probably he is not trying 100% now but I think Gryazin and Oliver are faster in those Latvian roads.
Oliver and Mads are not doing the whole championship, so Luky might think tactics for the title.
But again impressed by the young Solberg!
Is the Polo a better car than the rest, in these conditions?
If Lukyanuk had the testing and chance to develop the C3 more to his liking he would be mighty fast. But he is on a really tight budget.
Molle was off at Devine's place too:

Broken radiator for Sesks.
Congrats to Solberg - his speed is the real deal whatever his advantages.
The kid is amazing, Winning again!
Having the family he has, gives some pros, but the stages still needs to be driven. This is pure talent!
Will be interesting to see his speed in WRC in RC2, can he win there as well, even with swapping to the Skoda?
Ville Pynnönen off on SS9

Any chance of Solberg doing the whole season of he has the chance to win the overall title after the ERC1 Junior events ? Or will it clash with WRC2 ?
ERC1 Junior win must be nailed on for him. Is there a big cash prize again this year ?
Logistically he can do only two last tarmac rallys. And seems that VW Polo #1 owned by Solberg seems didn't have a tarmac spec suspension. So he can rent some other Polo and not wait till car comes from Sardegna to Hungary. And now not clear which rounds will be with Fabia and which wit Polo..
WRC2 title is much more better, that we see that ERC not so competitive
For the moment it's unclear if he will start at Estonia.. Probably yes..

Back from Liepaja. Short and quick impressions.
Solberg. VW Polo still is the best R5 car. It's awesome to see how stable it is - like iron on ironing board :) Oliver did the good job of course.
Gryazin, Tried to match Solberg pace very hard. In SS4 in place we were he left nothing for reserve he was on 103% there. His crash looks quite strange tough. Those who have rolled there in previous years did it after that access road which appears on crash video. Now this corner will be "Gryazin corner" forever - because he has rolled there in opposite direction (Rally Talsi 2016) too :)
Lukyanuk. First day he was the good, old Luky. Aggressive, attacking... just wow. In second day seems like he decided no to rush, just solid drive.
Ostberg. It was so visible what it means - to be a professional rally driver. Most perfect lines from all.
Breen, Lindholm, Pietarinen - solid drive, very enjoyable to see.
I must say it was great pleasure to see all first 15 cars. All of them tried to show the best they can. My driver or rally - Gregoire Munster. Especially in a first day. 7th place after first day and in overall in a such company it's outstanding performance. He could ended his rally in SS8 where few hundred meters from our spot he took a very strange line and traces on grass showed he was inch away from hitting road sign. I'm glad he stayed on road.

Seems that Peugeot messed up in the new 208 homologation form:

What s surprise...
Oliver is this year ERC level :-) And to say the truth, he was unbeatable in Liepaja. And Ostberg? Nobody of others was taking care about him as he was not scoring points to ERC. That is also reason why Lucas was not trying to catch him during Sunday as it makes no sense for him...
Lucas is in different position this year. He has lost some sponsors, so his budget is much tighter than usually. Which means less testing before events and more pressure not to crash... Like I wrote, Oliver was unbeatable this weekend and fighting with Mads has no sense for him.
Video with better angle of the Devine crash at 4.30...
