He is definitely lucky (having the money and service etc.), but last year he proved he can handle the R5 (Rally2) car, so it is about time to switch to higher tier. No doubt about that.

I do think Chris could benefit as a driver by doing another season in ERC, especially as it looks like the competition will be stronger this year.
My bet would be that he will start in Azores.
Miko Marczyk with Orlen Škoda Polska in ERC1 Junior.

The president of the club that organizes the Azores Rally said on a national radio that Niki Mayr-Melnhof is registered in the first ERC event. Does anyone know what the pilot program for 2020?
Breen happy with MRF's:

Emil Lindholm will join Breen on MRF tyres for four ERC rounds this season.
“It’s a great opportunity for me to expand my career to ERC rallies with MRF and an important step in my career to get the experience of a more international rallying scene,” Lindholm told DirtFish.
“From what I’ve seen this weekend – in Itäralli – with Breen behind the wheel, MRF is really serious and already has a great product for winter.
“I’m in no doubt they’ll deliver on the events in ERC and keep on pushing with the development. Personally, I hope I can support MRF with knowledge especially about winter conditions, but also serve them in the development of their complete tyre range.”
Asphalt could be the real challenge for MRF, they have been rallying on gravel for years but pretty new to asphalt I guess?
Great news about Lindholm!
They have asphalt tyres

Not know how good they are.
But @fioreBrivio, ex Pirelli/DMack development boss is now on the MRF Motorsport team. That give them a good knowledge base to work from in further development!
Yes, 6 rallies for him:
Azores Rallye,
Rally Islas Canarias,
Rally Liepāja,
Rally Poland,
Rally di Roma Capitale,
Barum Czech Rally Zlín.

What is going on that means ERC is suddenly attracting all these drivers again? Are sponsorship conditions in Europe better this year? Or is it the opposite and that ERC is simply cheaper to run than WRC3? Or is it simply luck?
Whatever the answer it is it's great news that things are looking much more positive this year :)
It is more things together. For sure ERC is cheaper than WRC2/3. I think also last year mess with WRC2 Pro and for long time not sure regulations for WRC2 / WRC3 this year are important... And of course involving some companies like Citroen, Hyundai or MRF...
Good to see that ERC will be a good series to follow in 2020. Many crews choose ERC over Wrc3 this year.
But it is about time they update the ERC website with 2020 drivers/co drivers and so on for all classes, since all apart from news is from 2019.
Info about events and news are actual, but list of drivers/codrivers/teams will be updated later. We want to put there only really registered drivers. And in reality, there is only few of them really registered... And of course, we will have their actual portraits only after photoshooting in Azores.
I am surprised that, for now, there is not any confirmed ERC program with a Polo R5...By the other way, already there are I20, Fabia, C3 and Fiesta confirmed
In a french forum are saying that is going to be competing 3 C3 R5 Sainteloc (Griebel, Luky and Camili)
Maybe Herczig will change it:

More on Lindholm: https://www.fiaerc.com/flying-finn-e...ent-programme/
It does say ‘one additional event’.. I wonder whether MRF will help another driver on some asphalt rounds?
