He has probably both Norway and Sweden nationality. (just like youngest U.K royalty, he has also USA nationality)

Colin Clark saying that Alexey should have been excluded: https://twitter.com/voiceofrally/sta...09134711459840
I fully agree with him. Alexey showed an unacceptable behavior here.
Shiiiiiiiiiiiit... Ingram's radiator holed ! :(
EDIT: nothing
Ogier did 170 km/h in 90 zone i Poland 2017 and then took a roundabout wrong way to get around it faster and get to TC on time. He was fined for the roundabout but not for speeding even though everyone could see it on allive.
Don't recall C. Clark saying a word back then.
Note that Haninen did same kind of speeding in Finland the same year with suspension held together by straps.
Right. Just realized :)
Judging by stage end comments, Lukyanuk doesn't feel too happy in this team. I suppose they want him to secure some points after not finishing the first two events and he wants to fight for the win.
Ingram is moving on the tracker ! Come on Chris !
He's finished the stage - great job Chris & Ross ! :)

The kid won, and had his international breakthrough!
Congrats Oliver, and the rest of the Solberg/Walfridsson klan!

Congratulations to Solberg, fantastic performance, would be nice to see more of him in ERC.
Solid job by Lukyanuk but all does not seem well in his camp.
Sesks possibly as impressive as Solberg given that it was his first event in an R5 car.
Great rally and scenery again. ERC facebook live worked pretty well here, would be nice to see them develop it further.
He's definitely Norwegian ! ;)

Luky responds
Hi! Where are many questions regarding todays stewards decision and the penalty we’ve got. Anyone who ever tried to participate in rally knows what the fast repair between the stages means.
We had to stop on the road section to fix the brakes - the pedal was too soft. The time for liason was pretty small, as the average speed was higher then 60kmh including refuel, tire marking and multiple inhabited areas, with 50kmh speed limit. If you have no repairs or no tire change, when you just hardly arrive on time. We’ve checked that on the second loop. So we spend 15 minutes to fix the brakes and had to keep average well over 100kmh to be on schedule. In a rush we have exceeded in several points excessively and it was measures by gps. So we got penalty. We are really sorry for this situation, but the time allowed was not enough even for tire change. It was sunday morning with no traffic so we increased our speed. I understand that we broke the speed limits, but it is really hard to be under pressure when you can loose the position and the team relies on you.

That's no bloody excuse for those speeds. He should consider himself lucky that the FIA have a constant inability to actually punish drivers in any series in a way that they might learn from.
He's "Luky" in another way too... youngster Sesks taking points off both Habaj & Ingram here.
Lukyanuk now less than 30 pts the behind them despite only 1 in 3 rally finishes.
That's exactly the problem with this kind of behavior. When you have a problem with the car that takes long time to fix then you just have to accept you arrive late in next TC.
FIA should start giving them time penalties for this that are higher than those they would get by getting late to TC. I am not saying they should punish them for doing 55 in 50 zone, but anything over 40% faster should be punished hard.
Problem is they should have started with this already when GPS tracking started a number of years ago.
10 days of public for Luky and DSQ from rally http://autorally.lv/files/r175/stewa...ision_No15.pdf
Well, if anyone on this forum never heard of such stories in rallies before, just raise your hand.
No excuses for what happened, but high speeds on liasions happens all the time in all rallies, and will happen again.
I´ve heard stories much worse than what happened to Luky.
Suddenly one guy have to wear all shame for something going on for ages. And not even organizer made it to keep average speed under limits on liasion...
yeah my bad
In some way you cannot accept speeding like this. But from the other side, why are organizers not giving a bit more time for road sections? I think the crews (especially later runners) could use some more margin sometimes... ;)
He does have some excuse with the liaison timing.
And it was also clear how stressed he was, saying over and over how much pressure he was under from the team.
After two DNF's he really had to finish, and finish well, to have any chance of the Championship.
I'm sure he has learned his lesson and this extreme speeding wont be repeated.
Spot on. Besides, once Luky was previously fined by the rally clerck why are the FIA stewards giving him an extra penalty? Are they trying to make an example just to respond to some negative comments in the social media? If so, that’s a real shame.
Btw, huge congrats to the young Solberg.
Yep. One gets dizzy with FIA stupidity.

Just to clarify situation with Lukyanuk's speeding regarding to opinions "he should have been penalized by driver licence deprivation" (don't mix it up with exclusion from rally). Driver license could be deprived only by public power act. In Latvian law (as in other European countries I suppose) one and only proof of speeding is measurements made by police with certificated devices/speed cameras. And vice versa - court doesn't not recognize as evidence any others measurements (private persons on-board cameras, cars gps-tracking systems, etc) made by non-police/official speed cameras. So if Lukyanuk were caught by police his rally would be ended right now - +51km/h speeding is penalized by taking driver license away immediately (decision about final penalty is made after that).
About rally itself. Deserved victory for Solberg junior. It was obvious that VW Polo R5 in decent driver hands are most powerful R5 and Oliver know how to use it. His driving style is very similar to his father style - aggressive one, throwing car in sideways in bends exit. In other hand I must admit that Kalle Rovanpera at that stage (first races on R5) made way more impression on me. Lukyanuk seemed to me switched to result delivering mode. In some way it was nice surprise - turns out he can be precise, smooth with precise lines and nice rhythm. There were no signs of his usual flamboyant style. There were others spectacular Citroen's - Adielsson and Arai. Solid and mature drive for Ingram. Good debut for Mārtiņš Sesks on R5. No wow effect just very solid drive just how it should be on home ground.
