No daily tickets for rally? We were thinking of doing only a day because of tight schedules but its little bit expensive to pay 75 for only 3-4 stages.
Which day are you doing? On Friday, Moksi-Oittila-Äänekoski 2 could be a doable three stage route, or then you could go straight from Moksi to Äänekoski and stay for two runs. Or then add a detour to Oittila between the two runs of Äänekoski. Moving on the east side of lake Päijänne kinda makes it easier since most of the stages are on the west side. If you are planning to add Harju as well, then rally pass starts becoming cheaper...
On Saturday there's probably even more traffic between the stages and parking areas get full soon. Maybe it's possible to do Päijälä and then Tuohikotanen for two runs (which are run on each side of service) and then Pihlajakoski if you don't attempt to drive the most obvious route between the stages? Kakaristo is probably the most popular stage and most difficult/slow to access.
Hi gyus. Anybody already get the Rallypass?
not yet, my friend emailed them this week and they said that they will start to send them out in two weeks
AnttiL, your mega route preview is great! It is perfect for the planning! Great with your analysis combined with the videos. And combined with rally-maps it makes it easier to plan where to be! Great job! I am going to Rally Finland again this year with my son. I was at 1000 Lakes Rally a couple of times in the 80's with my parents and it feels really great to go back with my son! A question for you, regarding planning of the Saturday stages... Want to go to both Päijälä and Kakaristo! The question is which order that is best? To be at Päijälä the first or second run? Is there time enough for another stage besides the 2 mentioned ones? I suspect at least Kakaristo will be very crowded? What would you recommend?
Kakaristo definitely in the morning, it is sooo over crowded for second run...we had this situation last year.
Switching stages will be tricky on Saturday, especially Kakaristo will get very jammed. But I personally would enjoy two runs of Kakaristo with Vetomies in between rather than sit at the traffic.
Id like to add last year Päijälä morning run had all the wrecks whilst on the 2nd loop almost nobody had action in the famous corner there. I did Ouni in the morning and päijälä afternoon after hearing about all the wrecks there.. Not that much exiting action except drunk estonian spectators having fun.
Thanks for the input, like I suspected then... My son wants to go to Päijälä and I want to go to Kakaristo... Looks like we have to fight about it!!! But the question is if something will happen at Päijälä again after last years crashes. I think they are warned about that corner now... And Kakaristo where I think we should go they have bot driven for several years now... So I think the answer is there, just have to convince the son!
Show him this video from 2011, this will be near the end of Kakaristo stage https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ww9tr9i8jvQ
I mean, Päijälä ain't a bad place to be either, but the ending of Kakaristo is a rare piece of road, driven only three times in the last 25 years.
Finally some entries coming:
29 pairs now, some potential WRC2 competitors added

Päijälä last year had two tricky places...
But agree, don´t think there´ll be much show this year, except from nice driving.

Shakedown presented by the rally radio
I'd advise people to wait for the official guide before planning to go at Ogier's. Word is there's tree plants which means it's a no go area or at least not an arena for 2000 people. I have not heard anything about chicaine or something else. Already last year it was unbelievable how it claimed so many victims. All had recced it and all must've seen all previous videos.
yep, we will go there, just looked it on google maps yesterday
Nice narrow jump at 4:33 on the video. The second left hand bend of the beginning is also good
And on rally speed, go for the 2014 Kakaristo stage on WRC+ or see the Vetomies version here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1vh14qk6BY and from the last junction turn onwards it's this https://youtu.be/u2LIE0onlKk?t=25s from 0:25 to 2:25 or so. But that "recce" video is good for showing how different the corners look now with forestry having been done (the Sokolov corner at 4:43 for example).

Yes, the power lines
Worst powerstage I've seen in a while, hopefully it only stays for a year. Not many good views.

More entries...
Veiby and Rovanperä are official Skoda Motorsport chosen ones.
Hmmm, regarding shakedown... What do you think about the first right hand corner after the second junction? Small jump in the exit? 5:20 into the video.

So, to which cars Pirelli is NOT supplying ? WRC or WRC2 ?
Must be WRC but why is that other marked as "main tyre" ? People usually read from left to right so would be logical if main classes (WRC) tyre is on the left column.

So, what about Ford throwing in Meeke in a fourth car? Is it possible? I mean that late entry, not yet on official entrylist?
Why would they want to do that?
The unofficial entry list is updated on the website daily, but the last day entries won’t be published until FIA approves them. M-Sport’s entries are most likely in by now, but we have to wait a bit for confirmation.
As for Meeke, if he gets a budget, I’m sure Malcolm rents a Fiesta.
