Big temperature contrasts due to cold sea and warm air on the island.. Maybe more on Friday.. I expect +33..+35 degrees on Thursday and Friday afternoon... huge test for cars and drivers as well... As well for spectators.. take a lot of water with you and some kind of sunshade... this is the hottest event in recent years... no soft tyres for Ogier this time.. I guess.
Sunscreen and straw hat ready!!! But some rain forecast to keep the dust down!
I know it maybe a rally of attrition but I am always like a small child when I'm preparing to travel to an event (ridiculous for a 60 y.o.!)
Lol are you 60? I imagined you like a 22 yo kid :D
Btw, yes, here in sardinia huge hail today. Some forecast says it will rain on saturday, some on friday but most of them says mostly cloudy. I predict a lot of drama in any case, Ogier will open the road only on friday, on saturday more or less 5 cars will be under rally2 and he will win again.
Let's see.
The guys I am with are all below 30 years (22, 24, 29) - I just happen to be living my life back to front!
We will be at Service Park between 1130 -1430 on Thursday
SS2 at the 23.55 km mark
SS4 Zone 11
SS7 Zone 19 (must get a sea view photo!)
SS8 Zone 4
SS10 Zone 12 (down the stage to the next bend)
SS15 near the church at the start
SS18 Zone 30 I think but we will update when we have a wifi connection on Friday.
Will definitely be in SP for the Champagne spraying!
Look for an old guy in a straw hat I'll have my St George flag too
Does someone knows if this splash is still in this years edition?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EeBBdgaZ0Ws
According to the spectator guide this year there should be a splash on stage 7-point 19 +
stage 12-point 25 and stage 14-point 39

only 1 pair outside Italy, Evkeny Cherkasov (RUS) - Mikko Lukka (FIN)
Yes, spot 25 in the other direction.
No hail in Alghero yesterday, saw the dark clouds though!
Today we went to the FIM Rally Sardegna, nice to see the top Dakar motor guys like Coma, Fariah, Walkner etc drive :) today they used parts of stage 2 of Friday! Drove that stage too, some really rough parts, last part before the hairpin right is really nice.
I am hopping on the ferry tonight and can't wait to get to Sardinia tomorrow morning. Getting keen for lots of action.
Don't know yet!
i gonna check zone 25 road from north tomorrow. let you know... think you will need proper 4x4 as last years to that piont.
Zone 25 is on my list :) I'm wondering if we can reach other zones near there and go walking.
Citroen's ready already !

arches old fabia vs new(overall wheel diameter asphalt/gravel is small)

Dimitris, be aware that the lower side window edge in the new Fabia is placed well below the window edge of the old car as result of overall lower bodyshell. That makes it look like the arches go more deep into the body.
yes,but i just look from upper point of tyre to the upper of arch. The difference is big enough.

Just arrived today and have enjoyed every second so far. Meet lots of friends and characters already. It is shaping up to be a great time.
Some times from shakedown after 3-rd run:
1 Kris Meeke 3:27.6
2 Mads Ostberg 28.3
3 Ogier 28.5
4 Mikkelsen 31.3
5 Latvala 32.7
Many of the WRC2 and lesser teams were not doing shakedown this morning due to the rough roads and prospect to simply damage their cars. Especially after being rutted up after 30 or 40 runs with the WRC cars.
Sordo fastest !

Those huge holes in Neuville´s car under the "Hyundai steel" sign are funny.
