Or to both of us, I sent them this a few weeks ago:
Dear WRC+ Team,
I really enjoy your work on WRC+ and regularly use it. There is still room for improvement in the 'Live Maps' area, but generally I appreciate your work.
One of the main reason to sign up for me is the possibility to see almost all onboards on all stages from the top runners. I think onboards, when correctly presented, can give a very good impression of the skills involved in driving a WRC car. However, I don't really like the position of the POV camera. Me, and I believe a lot of other people, would really like to see the onboard camera's placed behind the drivers, in between the driver and the co-driver, so you can see the driver turning the steering wheel and all of their input. Your colleagues in the ERC are doing exactly so, and those onboards are a lot more enjoyable if I'm honest.
See these examples:

Almost all onboards from the Czech site mediasport.cz are filmed like this as well: http://www.mediasport.cz/rally/onboardy.html
I stongly believe adjusting the camera positions will improve the quality of your product and it will, in the end, improve the popularity of the sport. After all, I suppose that's one of the reasons WRC+ has been created.
I wish you good luck in maintaning and improving this service.
Kind regards,
Which one is best..?? WRC+ onboards or official Youtube onboards..??
2014 WRC season review is now on WRC+
It is 52 minutes long and the final 90 seconds has some sensational editing
I see there is a 20% reduced price for wrc+ at the moment for Christmas...is it still not available in uk and Ireland..???
Is there any chance of legally getting WRC+ in the UK in 2015.
I know there are ways around the location restrictions, but it seems to crash my laptop when I try it.
I sent them an email asking for the reasons for why I could not subscribe from Norway.
it took them a long time to answer, and a BS asnwer came back. i asked them for more details, no answer yet.
Not a very peofessional way to treat customers!
Will use tunnelbear in 2015!
A few days ago I got an email from WRC+ team and they will display split times on their live maps this season. If they can manage to show them as fast as stage times it will be a great feature.
Would be good. I also hope they change the camera position of all cars to the one used in Meeke's car at Rally GB.
i d like a bit wider, want to watch drivers legs, and whole steering with both hands.
Correction, with those seats. Super wide angle like GoPros can give you the look of what's happening between the seats and dash, but it comes at the cost of overall image distortion. It makes everything seem so far away. Okay, the movement looks greater due to the wide angle distortion, but it feels wrong.
I told Østberg the other day that he should ask the TV crew to give him the same inboard as Meeke, so hopefully there's another one at least ;)
Problem with going wide is that you have a really small margin to hit or else the road will get too white like i did here.

Could maybe do it better if adjusted with the APP and a with a proper mount and not on top of the seat though.
I must be the only one that prefers the dashboard cameras! I know it's crazy inside the car, but I prefer the road view and comparing them where possible.
Still, seeing as they are still not allowing WRC+ in the UK and hiding away the coverage on obscure channels, like it makes any difference to me anyway!
This is medium wide angel on the GoPro, you get quite a bit less speed sensation though. You could get an aftermarket lense to get something in-between, not that hard to do either.

The point dimvii wants to make it that it doesn't need to cover all that, you can get away with a bit less wide angle lens, and keeping the lens position equal.
Definitely it is a delicate selection of lens used and positioning of the camera. But if someone with limited resources as SubaruNorway can do it, for sure RedBullMedia can do that too!
exactly as makinen fan said..
To see how the image changes when decreasing the field of view - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9KItJRr9Hlo
You can't keep the same position for Wide and Narrow. Well you can, but you'll see a lot less.
SubaruNorway, the video of Grondal is with the medium FOV?
Yeah it's medium mounted to the front edge of the co drivers seat in both. You have a narrow setting on the GoPro too but i never tried it for inboard, you would then probably have the edge of the frame just at the A pillars and not much speed sensation but of course better details of the road.
This is medium with a manfrotto super clamp and 25cm extension arm mounted to the cage 10cm back from the front edge of the seat. As you can see some vibration so welding my own heavy duty extension arm :p
Low light that day so i think that's why the quality is not that good.

WRC+ available in UK - http://www.irallylive.com/ir_news.htm?00007837&10
Halle-sodding-lujah, at last.
I'm not in on Thursday evening; do any regular users know how long after a live stage it's usually made available to watch for subscribers?
