Got WRC1 love it, cept the boring part of only choosing a Ford or Citroen. Then got Dirt 3 and boy are the graphic and driving style GREAT! Just bought WRC2 and I was excited to drive the MINI.... Nope, graphics aren't that good, looks cheesy to me... Driving is weird though you can slide through corners as I haven't figured that out in the other games.... And still think WRC1 is great! (Xbox360 version) I'll watch WRC3 trailer soon...!
The graphics and stage are really good. Car behaviour and engine sounds are still disastrous though.Quote:

Thanks a lot NISMO! Radical Improvement as expected anyway.
Alan's review Is much more enthousiastic, compared to his previous ones for WRC2010 & WRC2.
He has some hard times while driving ( though he Is a very experienced gamer) and that shows that the difficulty level In car's handling, has been raised!
One of his comments :'...WRC3 Is much more challenging than DiRT3, regarding car's behaviour on different surfaces...' says It all!
I noticed he can't be In high speeds all the time and that shows the new game will demand more trechnical driving than...just speed! Yes, the co-drivers sounds like a real person now and there Is a tension In his voice while calling out the pacenotes, which gives a real sense of a co-driver. Stages shown have all the characteristics of real rally stages (narrow, twisty, with many changes of surface surrounded by a detailed enviroment, which Isn't as 'empty' as In the previous games.)
Based on what seen so far, I think WRC3 will be returning the series back to their traditional roots!

1) Show us what the Mini looks like please (what is the difference between the 01A and 01B?)
2) Possibly describe the differences between the Fiesta, DS3, JCW (maybe find which car is best overall?)
3) the NZ stages would be nice to preview

Graphics look good, but the rear spoiler on the Fiesta is far too wide and far too tall. Plus the car still sounds crap.
Black bean better not get a renewed WRC licence, all 3 games have been horrific.
Codemasters would probably do no better. Let's get this one out first before we judge.

Only concern I have is that apart from the player (as Solberg) on the video, the rally is being led by drivers like Michal Solowow and Dennis Kuipers. Kuipers has won 2 rallies so far while I've played WRC2. Daniel Oliveira also won in Australia in my 2nd season. Bader Al Jabri also won a PWRC round once... It feels too unrealistic, how drivers don't have realistic levels of performance, but I can live with it I guess.
Also, would really like the AI cars to experience problems in stages and lose time, and maybe a few more retirements. It's too much like a faultless sprint for me at the mo, but I can deal with it. The games look to be improving.
P.S. I'm delighted to see from the fourth video that Matt Wilson is included in this game. I don't know what I'd do or who'd I go without him. :)
Yup I'm concerned that any old driver can win in this game. The 4th video shows the top AI cars are Solowow, Araújo and Nobre...

oh no, that crap from Dirt3 :( rally is a sport of man vs clock! why they dont focus on improving other aspects of the game?! car handling and stage lenght for example...
I'm back on the WRC2 wagon, I love it more then Dirt3! Fav stages are Jordan and Argentina, tight and twisty! Bring on WRC3!!!

I like Mexico and Portugal, but find Jordan by far the toughest. I've had to superrally every time except my first ever time when I was +2:40mins off the win over 6 stages!
Hows it going Gigi? What settings and difficulty are you using? I went straight into a WRC season on MAX AI, no rewind, no driver aids, and ended up last every time except Argentina (10th) and Greece (14th)!
Jordan is my favorite, but I could never learn how to drive in Finland, always losing time there. Toughest is Sardegna, because car physics are unreal, only C4 in career mode can handle the bumps.
I loved Mexico, Portugal and Germany. They were always my secret aces to keep my championship hopes alive. GB always sealed the deal for me as well.
I think WRC 3 is looking good so far. If codies cannot get the rights to WRC; maybe they could try do IRC. That could lead to more exposure to both Codies and IRC. A new generation of fans even. It would be interesting to see if the non-turbo series could sell more games than the turbo one!!!
Oh quick poll: Which driver will you use most in WRC3? (In previous games I've tended not to use the top guys as I liked to compare my speed with them).
I like Jordan, but it's by far the trickiest one for me, as I always clip some sort of rock somewhere, and that's game over. Italy is as bumpy as Cyprus on the first WRC2 by Evolution Studios a decade ago, but the AI is easier. I have won a stage on WRC Max mode and have a best finish of 7th.
As for drivers, I've only ever gone Matthew Wilson haha, and expect I will in this one too!
Why do you like to use Matt W so much? (I have no issue with your opinion whatsoever, each to their own). I am thinking Sandell would be fun to use for WRC3. I can't believe he couldn't rent the Mini for more than 2 rounds this year although he was impressive on them!
I don't know, I just like him and he's my favourite. And I've been wanting a chance to choose him in a game since around the time the old PS2 games were still around! Others I might try are Block, Andersson and Raikkonen.Quote:
