Meh!
I want this game to be so good, but watching them vids dosnt give me much hope!
I hate the co-driver, the shadows off the car look extremely wrong and the stages are still extreamly wide with open hairpins that no way need the handbrake.
The first comments from different forums aren't so good.
Actually they are bad, pretty bad. Milestone had said they are building the game from scratch
but they are refreshing the 2010 game Instead. The addition of 4 new countries + superspecials aren't saving them.
I also wanted this game to be great so badly. I am afraid this one will be a total catastrophy for their reputation and the series.
Hope they prove me wrong...
I don't think everyone should lose heart over this. This just follows BlackBeans game strategies. I've seen it with the SBK series and I'm sure the WRC series will be the same, they slowly sneak up on it. Each year the game gets a little bit more refined and better. Maybe skip buying this one and buy the 2012 version, but they will get better. I've also found that they improve in things people don't talk about. I remember the first of the SBK games I got - '08' - and that was tricky and slow but they made it better on '09, slightly better still on X and finally 2011 feels like a really great game.
I don't think that they can afford to do that. I don't know the figures on the first WRC game but I suspect it sold less than SBK. With the sequel being no better they will lose more people (me for one) and make even less profit. I simply can't see them being able to get to a fourth or fifth edition without some financing windfall.Quote:

Take a look at sales statistics:

thats not because no one likes the World Rally Championship or rally, that was because the game was and is still rubish,
Look at D3 with much better quality rally ( grafixs handeling etc etc) gained 280 000 sales in 8 weeks....

edit: One of the most Important parts In the article, says that In the footage given to the press so far,
there are many graphic details missing from the enviroments and they will be added the final month before release.
Also the damage model, Is not available for those beta versions seen so far.
Do the graphics details consist of corners that weren't in the first game?Quote:

No, at least for the original stages of the 2010 game. But let me remind you there will be 4 new countries Included In the 2011 title.Quote:

hehe, obviously not;but at least you're a fan of the real WRC, aren't you? :pQuote:

Now I'd much rather support local events that I can actually go and see...especially as they don't charge the stupid rates that Wales Rally GB like to charge.Quote:

Confirmed Info based on this article:
-The more damage you take, the worse your car handles.
-The final game will feature six-stage championships, special timed challenge stages (like WRC Academy challenges In the 2010 title? )
-There will also be a revamped Career mode, which encourages more team management and will have new recruitment features ( service park area maybe?)
I really hope they aren´t that stupid that they think that they have the "perfect game" by just upping the graphics a little. When all the stages are the same, and the handling doesn´t differ, I´d say they´ve been lazy!
What's all this secrecy from Milestone, 2 months before release???
I just Milestone being Milestone, nothing new.
New preview from spazio games!

A couple of things got my attention:
…The driving model is significantly improved, thanks to a strong feeling of "weight" of the vehicle,
far too "light" in the previous iteration. Add to that a better response to different soil types and shock
due to a complete overhaul of the physics simulation engine…
(Regarding the service park addition)… After you earn enough money you can take on a reputation
(about half an hour of play will be enough) and put to work immediately on the search.
This will be geared towards a particular system of the vehicle, from brakes to transmission,
and will require several weeks to complete (corresponding to as many events marked on the calendar):
Once completed, the selected piece will show dramatic improvements…
…Although it is still early for a verdict, given the immaturity of the code supplied to us,
WRC 2 seems to be on track to present itself as a natural evolution of the product enjoyed a year ago
now broken the ice, developers can now propose a model rewarding as well as realistic driving…
Looks nice, though I'd prefer a special stage more than a superspecial on the cover.

Wonder what does that mean (In bold); could It mean the new game offers many co-drivers
or maybe pacenotes editor? Hope It's not just switching from male to female driver. :p
'...In The Road To WRC, build your career, select your events based on time and budget
and manage your own team (engineers, co-pilot, mechanics̷) .
The latest news from WRC2, are that Milestone are working hard to polish the game, until the last minute.
So I guess that graphically, It won't look like In the videos seen so far. ;)
Can you polish a turd? graphically it already looks okay but the physics seems off and the pace notes / speech parts are unbelievably bad. I'd sacrifice graphics for realism in the stages and better pace notes every single time.
The pace notes are horrific, there's no flow to them. It's like having a robot read them to you, and it looks like they haven't changed the hairpins either.
Strange they took no action over that Issue (from what seen so far) :(
Pacenotes/co-driver raised some quite bad criticism In the previous title, so I expected to deliver some new co-driver model...
Anyway, could that comment from PS3 Blog.co.za preview : '...In The Road To WRC, build your career, select your events based
on time and budget and manage your own team (engineers, co-pilot, mechanics̷) hide some kind of a surprise?!?
If the surprsie is "turn off that damn voice" then maybe but he physics looks so poor I can't be bothered to find out

A new video by the team vvv guys. Very early build.
It's more than a month old Nismo.
It's about time for some new footage though.
There was a new video but Alan has removed it for some reason. (maybe Milestone/Ubi told him to remove it due to being a very early build of the game)Quote:

Now on to the handling.....which was also unfinished. Alan was using a steering wheel which he couldnt adjust it properly due to it being a early build.
