The videos really don't do it justice. The cars do slide nicely, it's just that the people doing the vids are generally fairly in control ;) Also if you like sideways you'll LOVE the rallycross section. It's also quite good to play multiplayer. I love having a flawless run and having an equally good driver dicing with me for the lead from corner to corner :DQuote:

Yup. Want to know something that's criminal? I paid £20 for the PC version. How much does the 360 version cost? £37........ that's highway robbery and another reason why people should stick with PC's!Quote:

£20! God that is cheap! Where did you get it from? these next gen consoles are pushing PC game prices down by the seems of things and PCs can still do these games justice!
I think it was Virgin. I typically pay between £5 (old games bought on Amazon) to perhaps 30 quid for a game I really really really want. I also try to buy games through online distribution systems like Steam. That way you don't need to worry about scratching discs and losing them. You simply have an account and put your username and password in and it downloads the game ;)
lol nice, all legal is it Daniel? ;)
Do you think I could get a new PC cheaper than a new PS3 that is capable of playing RBR and MCDirt?
Yes it is legal ;) and I don't mean that in a wink wink kind of way.
Basically you can just download steam, pay for the game and download it :) Much better than having to go to a store and buy a game and worry about losing the product key or cd or anything like that. Plus it automatically updates the game when a new patch comes out :)
Any newish PC can play RBR from what I've seen. Dirt is a strange one. Perhaps it's just the fact that I'm playing it on Vista but it's not as fast as I'd like it to be. but yes you could get something that would play CMD quite well for the same price as a PS3 and you'd have the benefit of being able to upgrade it in the future ;)
Sounds good about the Steam thing, i'm guessing it's got competitive prices?
Yea I suppose that's true about the PC it can be upgraded, hmmm will have to see after the summer and see how much money I have.
Prices are generally quite good. Only thing is they don't sell all games. Manufacturers would rather you pay 10 quid more for a disc, dvd case and manual that cost them 20p to mass manufacture ;) So only companies who choose to be part of steam are part of steam. EA have got their own online distribution system as well but I don't know about codies.
I must agree on what 306 says about the cars look like going on rails.
It also feels so when driving, its almost flat out and turn until you reach finish.
In the non-moded game you can go flat out and break in less then a sec on gravel, do a hairpin turn with full speed.
(theres some things you can do with some files to get less grip and brake power, but that feels even more stupid)
Theres so good grip and acc you can almost think you driving a F1 on very smooth tarmac and the car physics is not as good as RBR, the cars just floating over the surface.
If your wheel are out of the track, dont worry, it wont slow you down or give you any steering problems, like in RBR or in reality, just push down the throttle and steer it back on track.
The only thing in this game I think feel little realistic are those dirt cars, I think they are RWD cars and you have to adjust your speed on throttle if you want to have a good slide through the corner.
Been playing this game sometimes just to killing some time and because im tired of RBR.
The only thing that keeps me playing is to crash the cars actually, the game is to arcad to enjoy it as a rally game.
Are you playing it on 360 or PC?Quote:

That's because you had the graphics settings up too high.Quote:

Yesterday I got both the xbox and the game ( birthday presents in advance) :D the codriver still annoys me but I love the game so far  online ? not until I get use to the handling :p :
For those who has pc version, you can download the HDR Tweeker: http://www.gamersfiles.net/modules.p...etails&lid=437
It allow you to turn off the HDR which will improve fps. I think the game look better and more real than before with it off.
Codemasters really need to put some work into their game in regards to getting it running at a decent speed. The way it runs even on good PC's is truly apalling and when you turn the graphics down just a bit it becomes a very ugly game. You shouldn't have to disable HDR to get decent FPS on a decent PC.
I had a few games of the rallycross in the 131 Abarth in Virgin today and was impressed by the graphics. Car control felt a bit different to the PS2 versions of CMR3/4/5, but it was still decent. Had a quick shot of the rallying and the co-driver annoyed me. :s
Can you guys please post your best time achieved in Pikes Peak ?, I just want to verify how crap I am :p : Don't forget to mention the car you drove/used...thanks ;)
My best run at the Pikes Peak was
09:00.94 in the Quattro (Hill climb unlimited)
A mate has borrowed the game from me for a while so I concentrate on Forza, but IIRC I did a 8:08 in the mad Pennzoil Toyota...hanging on for dear life all the way up the hill  :p :
As I am still stuck on tier 9 (Sardina stages) I am not sure the version I've raced it's the entire distance, so how long is the version you guys have raced ? I still want to know how crap I am :p :
Can you tell me how to turn the co-driver's voice on? It is really frustration to drive without co-driver.
Go to sound options, and increase the volume of the codriver. You sure the voice is off ?, normally by default its on ;)Quote:

the codriver is extremely annoying, and sucks, i rather keep it low and have the map on and only use what he said as reminder after you learned the stage, sometimes he said the corner after i passed it.Quote:
