Yesterday Panizzi have a great control to car.
Panizzi one of the best tarmac's driver.
Duval has tested Punto from Abarth yesterday, unfortunally this article is in French: http://sport.turbomagazine.be/index.php?pg=news&id=2672
He said that he is positively surprised by the amelioration in engine and gearbox, this compared to Punto's he drove before in Portugal and also in Condrozrally.
He tested different setup's and also got familiar with the range of BF Goodrich tyres. Let's see what he can do during the rally. ;)
:)
Good entry list, but for a moment reading the thread, I thought Panizzi was to drive a Skoda.
In my book he is one of the best Asphalt drivers of all time, would be super to see him in Sam Remo in a top car !
No money as motivation for him..
Yes and I see his point, but still it would be cool !
:)
Both Luca Cantamessa and Freddy Loix are doing testing today in Italy. Luca is getting familiar with the BF Goodrich Pug, whilst Loix is testing suspension so that he don't have to use set-up of Meeke or Vouilloz. :D
I don't think so.Quote:

Money is not his motivation (he don't need it)...
If you have a skill and someone use it without paying you, will you be OK ?
That's motorsport today..
Not only motorsport... :dozey:Quote:

Tomorrow morning from 9h30 to 14h30 we can see shakedown for San Remo. Can we see stage times of shakedown somewhere?
Nobody has any link to shakedown stage times?
Any news on SD? Over in 20 mins.
some news:
The President of Automobile Club Sanremo, Sergio Maiga, yesterday Thursday
September 24th, officially announced the will of the Organizing Committee of Rallye
Sanremo, to go back in 2010, to the format that made the history of this event, returning on
the roads of Tuscany.
Sergio Maiga: “Our idea received a favorable reception from manufacturers and now we
are in contact with the Italian Automobile Sporting Commission (CSAI) in order to obtain
the authorization to propose crews a mixed event, that will provide a first leg on gravel in
the heart of Tuscany and a second part on the legendary roads of the Ligurian hinterland”.
This format, that once regrouped Liguria, Tuscany and Umbria, has been abandoned in
1992 (first and only victory in the World Rally Championship of Andrea Aghini – Lancia
Delta HF Integrale) to change it to an all asphalt event.
The first reaction from press, drivers and local representatives who attended the
announcement, has been very favorable
Excellent news - let's hope it comes to fruition!!Quote:

There are some pictures from shakedown on official website of San Remo rally, but i don't see any live-result part on this website
IRC site nor offical site of San remo rally doesn`t have shakedown results. Is it really so hard to publish the results? They do behave very profesisonal...
I completely agree with you, unfortunally not very professional. :(Quote:

More info, but all unofficial and not sure if order is accurate, could be another time for somebody after Hanninen:
1 Kopecky 2.07.7 (3 passes)
2 Meeke 2.08.7
3 Hanninen 2.09.2
4 Duval 2.11.0
Ok, thanks Noel, but where did you got this info from?Quote:

could improve! Jan (Kopeky) has good chsnces to win the challenge, and I’ll do my best to help
him”.
François Duval (Abarth Grande Punto S2000): “I do not know this rally very well, but above all I
should start slowly to avoid what happened in Ypres! Apart this I’m very happy with the car…”
Luca Rossetti (Abarth Grande Punto S2000): “The route is really nice and I like it a lot. I feel
comfortable in the Punto and we found a good set up”.
Kris Meeke (Peugeot 207 S2000): “I feel good, the 207 is fine. I’m surprised with my times, that
are not bad at all compared to the ones of other drivers with better experience on this kind of
route”.
Piero Longhi (Skoda Fabia S2000): “I’m satisfied. Last Tuesday we did some tests that allowed
us to improve the Fabia. I really like Rallye Sanremo, but is going to be tough because of the
high level of the participants”.
Nicolas Vouilloz (Peugeot 207 S2000): “The set up is perfect and I feel comfortable. I always
liked these roads . We’ll see where we’ll be tonight, the first leg is going to be crucial”.
Luca Cantamessa (Peugeot 207 S2000) BF Goodrich): “We are working on the set up of the 207
in order to adapt it to my driving style. I can’t wait to see what happens at the end of the first
stage!”
Umberto Scandola (Abarth Grande Punto S2000): “We worked a lot this morning to find the
right set up. We’ll see what happens in the first stage”.
Now there will be live results on rallylink.it: http://www.cronoimperia.it/sanremo09/index.html
