One can wish but I don't think it's co-incidence that Japan has a WRC round and that it's held around Toyota City.
Did Ogier say they have an issue?
Taka Katsuta's lack of pace is baffling. Every indicator leading to the event was pointing towards a strong performance - second on the road, confidence from two event wins and a dominant asphalt Toyota.
Yet he looks lost and short on confidence. Maybe the home pressure is a lot more than he lets up. We may find out on Saturday when he runs in supposedly the best place viz-a-viz other Yaris.
Elfyn Evans, though, deserves a pat on the back for playing to his and Toyota's strength. Ten-out-of-ten for his drive thus far.
So results pretty much as expected for the Rally1 teams, but at least Neuville is ahead of Katsuta and within touch of Pajari.
A great day for Evans, very impressive to gap both Ogier and Solberg.
