See I’m almost glad they’re going – the costs and technology went too far, ending up with two Manufacturers – compleltely unsustainable. I preferred the first WRCars, they were still driven sideways.Quote:

From what year do you think the prices went up to run these babys? Pug 307 upwards years?Quote:

Damn I'm going to miss those machines.
I think those cars are underated, especially the C4 WRC and the Focus, I know I will never forget Loeb going up the Tavira hill in that mean red looking machine in 2007. Well, the end of a chapter.
I think if I put any pics of him in here it will ruin all our memories!
So NO one do! haha
Next will be Subaru. :)
Absolutley perfect, still to this dat the best looking WRC by a long shot!Quote:

I remember Malcom Wilson saying when Ford introduced the 2003 version (the on with the big rear wing) that it was the first WRC car which price was above 500.000 €. I don’t know when the active front and rear diffs was introduced but I think they were most expensive (~1 milj. Euros) at the time they had active front and rear diffs and more titanium parts (wishbones etc.). In the podcast AndyRAC posted in the “News and rumours” thread, Malcom tells that the cars they’ve built recent years costs almost 600.000 £ (~ 750.000 €).Quote:

For example Makinen, Sainz and McRae - you got them in the phase when they were competing with new specifications comin from the old; they had to learn how to drive the new cars with a new style . In some cases unsuccessful, but if you get Loeb, Ogier and Sordo who began driving when the old style and regs were phased out and they learnt this straight away from coming from JWRC and not previous gen of WRCars they got their own way of driving and style in the last phase of WRCars. Hope someone agrees? :)
