Someone can take my turn. There are fires all around and I might have to evacuate. My brother lives 3 miles from me and his neighborhood at mandatory evacuations. I'm packing all my stuff, including my computer. At least my boss called to tell me that I don't have to work today!
Yikes Civic :s Take care of yourself, and your family. You'll be in our thoughts and prayers.Quote:

Civic - best of luck to you - it looks like a bad situation from the news reports....
Alex - great photo - I think I know what it is but I do not remember any of the details - hopefully someone else can fill in all the blanks!!
Driver- Dan Gurney
Year- 1962
Car- Moore -P&W Turbine
Track- Indianapoils
The turbine was worked on by crew chiefs from Curtis LeMay's Strategic Air Command.
Yep, the first turbine was in 1962, not 1967. It was a DNQ. (Gurney would drive a Buick engined Mickey Thompson machine in the 500 that year.)
Also, something else I didn't know until just now. Gurney is listed as also passing his rookie test that year in a John Zink Trackburner #72 Watson-Offy. I had no idea he had ever driven an Indy roadster, but he did. :)
You're up Phoenix!
Nice photo AM. :up:Quote:
