True, the top photo is from Rallye du Monte Blanc.
Loix's crash could have been worse:

I'm still not convinced this is the case, if I was hiring a graphic designer to photoshop out the pirelli signs on a car for my michelin backed website id probably fire them for missing the big pirelli sign across the windshield. I may be wrong but I like their website. I live in Canada now and getting any sort of coverage of rally is hard and I feel Best Rally live make up for wrc.coms downfalls so I can't speak bad about them.
My pics from the Rallye du Var are online on www.rally-image.be

tommeke_B what about the ds3 drivers? who impessed you more? what about twingo? really impressed me from videos. How they were live compared to 208?
@Dimvii:
Difficult event to drive. You have one corner just after another, constantly, the tricky places are not so obvious as in other events I think. Also there is quite some variation, for example Vidauban begins with 15km full of holes, bumpy road, even a bit of gravel, and then another 15km of catalunya-like road but just more narrow and more corners. The set-up is always a compromise and you can't always have it perfect. It's in the mountains but not going up and down that much, they are more following the mountains, no big altitude-differences during the stages.
About the DS3-drivers I would say Consani and Chardonnet were clearly the best drivers, but both had bad luck... Arzeno and Gilbert were announced as "big names" in the beginning of the season already, but without some luck they wouldn't have been 1 and 2, both were driving too brutal, using the handbrake too much, their lines were not so good in fact. Kevin Demaerschalk impressed me a lot too, it was his first time in Rallye du Var (others did the rally several times before), first time with a new codriver (and a changed pace-note system). He was quick and very clean ( quite late in and out in a more straight line etc, really good lines for long asphalt stages), pitty he lost 2min8s because of a puncture (which was really a matter of luck on those stages with big holes even in straight lines, and big holes you could not avoid). I believe Kevin is one of the guys to watch if he continues in the DS3 trophy next year, hopefully with Fred Miclotte again. :)
In the Twingo R2 cup Salinas, Guigou and Clutier were the guys to watch of course. I think the Twingo is quite close to the 208, really hard to say which is better (also because only Bouffier was driving a 208). In general I would say the 208 looked a bit more stable, about engine etc it's impossible to tell a real difference in Rallye du Var where the road turns constantly it's more difficult to tell than in another rally. I think a 208 would be better in more flat events (like Belgian events, Germany, Touquet in Northern France etc.).
For the rest Kubica was really nice, perfect lines and really fast, even if Freddy would've been driving with a C4 I think Kubica would've been faster. I'm not surprised he crashed. I think he didn't give anything about the victory, he just wanted to learn and gain experience, and you don't learn when cruising... Freddy Loix was rather disappointing, always looked like he was hesitating a bit what to do, didn't look confident. Breen was surprisingly quick, I didn't expect him to beat Robert in speed so quickly, if he can be so fast in Rallye du Var he can be fast on tarmac everywhere, no doubt about that. Another nice surprise was Zucarelli, with an old 206 WRC, the car was extremely low and soft, the outside of the front bumper always reached the ground in corners, and the car was slightly understeering, but apparently it worked and he was setting nice stage-times, and it was nice to see. :) Maurin was a bit of a disappointment, it looks like he's becoming te French Matthew Wilson (but with more mistakes), to put it roughly... Then the GT's, they're not real rallycars but very nice to see and hear, and they are so fast (especially Dumas and Nantet)... :)
According to his Twitter, Eric Brunson will tomorrow test at Banbury with the Mini JCW WRC.
nice car. Hope to see him in France, but ... more probably in Belgium ?
I think he will return to France...Quote:

Any idea of who buy the Porsche ?
From Tony his facebook: "La fabuleuse Porsche à trouvé, depuis ce matin un nouveau pilote pour 2013 dans les atelier Vaison Sport...."
So the car will be at Vaison Sport now... :)
I was wrong, he was at Msport testing Fiesta WRC :)Quote:

He will do events with the Mini and S11..
Germain Bonnefis will take part to the Bandama Rally this week end :)
Any plans for him internationally? He's ready for that!
I don't know, but this entry is support by Peugeot ... maybe we can hope something for next year (in ERC ?) :)
Let's hope! The ideal guy to get the R5 to his first win!

The goal is to win the overall. Maybe that the 208 is not the best car to do this in these African roads ...
The NCRS Subaru S12 has been sold to a guy from the North of France. Never heard about him! This should be his livery for the Routes du Nord.

He drove since 2 years, and only one race per year. He finished 18th in 2011 in Rallye de la Lys with Evo VI N4 and retired this year in Epernay.
It seems that the S9 of Barbara was sold in the North of France too, but don't know who bought it ...
@czech friends : are Tlustak, Odlozilik, and another one going this year in Rallye des Routes du Nord ? :)
I dont think so. Rallye des Routes du Nord is too early in February...Quote:

I guess Tlusťák is running Latvia ERC in February and that is probably enough.

And it seems that British drivers wanna come back to the Route du Nord : Andy Fenwick and Barry Renwick with Accent WRC want to do the rally in 2013 :)
