With such actions Duval is closing personaly the doors at teams&sponsors for a seat in a rally car. There is no excuse (except technical reason) for crashing when you have everything under control.

It was a very rainy day, with los of retirements. Princen and Duval unfortunately went off, so Loix can cruise to another Victory. The title steeds to be decided already...
Lot of mechanical problems for the ds3 r5's. Demaerschalk, Leonard, Scaillet retired, Dilley drove slowly on the last stage.
At the end of the day, quite a poor day of rallying for us...

We also didn't have the best day of rallying this year, probably the worst. Few stages we missed Loix and Duval, some bad spots, only few fast drivers. Not the best Rally Wallonie we went to haha, but Joost his video is pretty decent again ;)

Finish:
1. Loix (Fabia R5) 2:10:20,9
2. Bouche (Fabia R5) +44,4
3. Verschueren (Fabia R5) +46,1
4. Allart (Fabia WRC) +2:14,4
5. Baugnet (Fiesta R5) +3:51,9
6. Fernémont (Fiesta R5) +3:59,6
7. Collard (Evo X) +6:25,6
8. Hermann (Punto HGT) +10:59,1
9. Bouvy (997 GT3) +11:17,1
10. Van Rompuy (DS3 R5) +13:32,4
All top four for Škoda, disaster for PSA with the top scoring driver being only 10th overall...
Duval without Evo spec, only Princen had it.
Van Woensel - propshaft
Some cars were slowed down by marshalls after accidents of Princen and Duval, that's why they drowe slow and lost lot of time (then they got notional times). Not best event for PSA cars (4 crashed, rest mechanical), but on the other hand results showed that with good drivers like Princen or Duval they can be faster than Skoda. Duval was driving very fast and went out on well known place.
Loix didn't need to push and he perfectly controlled the situation. Nice fight for 2nd spot.

Sezoens Rally next week ;)
Oh yes! Ford Fiesta R5 for Patrick Snijers, old hero from my childhood days! Isn't it great? :D
For sure it is great. Thanks to him, I am interested in rally for quite a long time now. :)
What place can he take now after all these years... is top 3 possible?
Sezoensrally in Bocholt this weekend. 5th rally of the Belgian Championship already.
As always, entrylist is not as good as other rallies in the championship.
Loix (Fabia R5) and Princen (208 R5) as favorites again.
Snijers (Fiesta R5) might finish on the podium, but I think Verschueren (Fabia R5) will be faster. Wright (Fiesta R5) should be 5th fastest. Van Rompuy and Serderidis (DS3 R5) and Kenis (Mini WRC with RRC restrictor) are the other top entries.
Entrylist: http://www.sezoensrally.be/nl/deelnemers/ "Deelnemers Nationaal"
I will be the codriver of Erwin Mombaerts, former WRC/ERC codriver with Abbring, Kuzaj, Van Merksteijn, Kuipers, VW test drivers etc. He will compete in his second rally this weekend in a Fiesta ST.
So far a very easy event for Loix in Sezoens. Princen is nowhere near, currently even behind Verschueren on third place. Good drive from Steven Wright so far.
http://sezoensrally.rallyresults.be/...lass-0/group-0
Dupanton will need to explain that one. :D
Results:
1. Loix (Fabia R5) 1:26:30,6
2. Princen (208 T16 R5) +50,8
3. Wright (Fiesta R5) +1:18,5
4. Verschueren (Fabia R5) +1:29,4 (lost one minute in one stage)
5. Snijers (Fiesta R5) +2:01,9
6. Kenis (Mini WRC) +5:13,4
7. Van Rompuy (DS3 R5) +5:51,2
8. Becaert (Evo X) +6:03,8
9. Jonkers (Evo V A8) +6:11,3
10. Diels (BMW M3) +7:58,5
I am just back of the Sezoensrally. It was a great day.
It was good to see that Loix was attacking like hell in the beginning of the rally, while usually Princen is a bit faster than him in the beginning. Loix said before the rally that he will go full attack from the beginning.
Wright was happy with the 3rd place. Last year he was also 3rd in this rally, but this year all top drivers made it to the finish. He promised to be back next year in this rally. :) Verschueren lost one minute in SS12 Goolder due to a loose manhole cover and made so a mistake. Snijers could test only 20 km before the rally in the Fiesta R5 Evo which he hired from an Italian team. Maybe he should do also Ypres with this car if there is enough budget. Kenis was the only WRC at the start and he had a lot of pleasure.
Tom van Rompuy did his best result ever in the BRC with a 7th place overall. :) I had for the first time a meet with forum member br21 of this team. That was also very nice. :)
Steve Bécaert was just like last year in the top 10. Next weekend he will drive for the first time a R5 car (DS3) in the ORC Rally, a popular regional rally. He will do the other rallies this year probably again with his Lancer, but next year he wants to drive a R5 car in the Belgian rally championship.
I spoke just with Hein Jonkers, 9th overall, and his Lancer was more a Mitsubishi Mirage R5 due to a mistake. :p He said that he is hoping to come back next year in this rally with the beautiful old Lancer.
Local hero Gunther Monnens retired with a broken engine in SS3. The other main retirements were Jourdan Serderidis (DS3 R5) in SS2 and Jonas Langenakens (Lancer Evo 9) in SS7.

Regional rally this weekend in Wervik, not far from Ypres with a lot of drivers who will use this rally as a test before Ypres. Kobus, Debackere, Delplace (Fabia), Tjsoen, Casier, Vanneste, Indri (Fiesta), Serderidis (DS3), Claerhout (Porsche).
Results of Rally Van Wervik
1. Tsjoen (Fiesta R5) 53:56,2
2. Kobus (Fabia R5) +26,3
3. Debackere (Fabia R5) +30,7
4. Casier (Fiesta R5) +1:11,8
5. Lietaer (Legacy RS gr.A) +2:09,1
6. Vermuelen (BMW M3 E30) +4:10,9
7. Merlevede (BMW M3 E30) +4:37,5
8. Serderidis (DS3 R5) +4:48,0
9. Vermeeren (Evo II gr.A) +4:56,2
10. Perrard (Lancer) +5:42,5
Vanneste was leading the rally but crashed on the last stage. Debackere most of the time kept Kobus and Casier behind her but at the end on the muddy wet track Kobus managed to get in front of her. Delplace had a big crash with the Fabia R5 of Czech Rex Team which he intended to use also for Ypres. Let's hope they can repair the car in time...

Vanneste was running in R5+ mode (so bigger restrictor and WRC wing) to win his home rally. That "explains" his big advantage. Kobus, Debackere and Tsjoen went very well. Casier was a bit of a disappointment.
Delplace hit a pole on the first stage:

Rallye was cancelled after a few cars on the last 2 stages, because a lot of cars went of in the rain. And they already were far behind on their timing too.
