Video of Solowow (and Wilson?) testing Fiesta RRC (and s2000). The video is with english subtitles.

Any info about the time difference of the S2000 and RRC?Quote:

That’s very surprising result. I would have thought that the RRC would have been faster because of the higher torque, and therefore more power at lower revs, and better acceleration out of tighter corners.
Remember that Solowow knows Fiesta S2000 very well and RRC is a new car for him. That's probably the reason of worse times.
yes you are right this is i think one of the reasons bad condition fiesta on this test.Quote:

The dependence is exponential as area is what counts ;) But anyway I agree that with 30 mm it can hardly be faster, maybe on gravel.
RRC first rally in this weekend on Rajd Rzeszowski. Driver is of course Michal Solowow ;)
Rajd Rzeszowski starts this Saturday. The drivers, that will be missing on the start list are:
Leszek Kuzaj (nr 10, due to ear infection),
Oleksij Tamrazow (11),
Tomasz Czopik (16, he wants to stop competing in traditional rallies and switch to Dakar Rally instead),
Bogdan Bożyk (26),
Roman Grendel (27),
Marek Spavelko (47).
The fastest driver on shakedown was Jaroslav Melicharek (Mitsubishi Lancer WRC). The crew Tomasz Żerebecki i Ewa Rybko (Citroen C2) had an accident and lost a wheel. The driver is in hospital, but he should be OK very soon.

Manfred Stohl is present on the rally. His team takes care of the car for Maciej Rzeznik. The TRT team, that Rzeznik usually hires, is busy on Madeira now.
Live results as always at SUBARU | Strona główna
What a duel Bouffier vs Grzyb after SS2
Laurent Viana is doing quite OK in his DS3 :)
Is Solowow running with the S200 or RRC???
Kajetanowicz already out with gear box problems :(
Off road for Grzyb in SS3 :s but only 8"8 lost on Bouffier though  should be only a spin, no ??? :p :
Drives with the RRC.Quote:

Strange that Solowow is "on threat" of Rzeznik
Oh no !!!! Crash from Grzyb on SS7  He shouldn't have tried to attack Bouffier...
Béreš is extremely slow now. Does anyone know why?
Puncture for Solowow in SS8 :s Rzeznik passes him for 2nd overall
First of all, when was he fast? ;)Quote:

Grzyb went off into a ditch on a dirty 90-degree corner. End of the rally for him. Solowow had a puncture. If Rzeznik stays in the second place, it will be his best result of the whole career!
i think Rzeznik will loose the 2nd place in the last stage to Solowow... 3rd place still is better result in his carreer?
I was wrong... Rzeznik was faster than Solowow in the lat stage and was 2nd overall at the end of the rally!
Congratulations to Bouffier :)
And to Chmielewski, winner of 2WD again :D
I know more details now. Beres had problems with clutch today and then he stopped after also differential broke down in his Fabia.Quote:

He came to the service park from SS8 but he didn't gone out from it. Also Orsak was too slow for me , I thought it would be faster on this stages. My next rally is Barum so it must be better than here. :)
PS: RRC sound is amazing for me :)
Extra spectacular video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2pkZX3Sv00
Unfortunately you will not hear it anymore. Solowow said that he is disappointed with Fiesta RRC. This car is not competitive enough against S2000 cars. The 30-mm restrictor is way to small to produce enough power and in his opinion the homologation should be changed. For next rallies he returns to Fiesta S2000.Quote:

Anyway.. strange that they developed a car to be less competitive than the S2000...
I would even say a great job! He's 53 years old used to drive Gr B's and the old Group A cars and not the new trend cars powered by electronics and computers. He fits way better at the back of wheel of a car who drove in the 90's. Mini WRC will probably not good enough for the win in Omloop van Vlaanderen but we'll get to see some spectucalar passes by Snijers on the limit. Still not old enough to give it up on the highest level of rallying in Belgium.
In the first place, I would ask the basic question - why were such RRC cars brought to life? Can't drivers in WRC and ERC drive the same cars?!Quote:

So is this restrictor only a temporary solution?Quote:

Solowow could still use the Fiesta as a WRC till the restrictor size has been changed.
Someone said to me that Solowow bought Fiesta RRC :)
Michal Solowow back to the 207 S2000 or only for the Barum Rally Zlin
I think he received a good offer from Peugeot. New livery can be found below:
