Dimitris, in my opinion one thread dedicated to all R5 cars is enough.
I thought the approval date for new cars, could only be in January, March, July and September. How is it possible to happen on April?Quote:

Could be true, seems Symtech and Godrive for Verschueren would only get them delivered in May :(
OK. Thanks Mirek and mousti.
Let's hope that happens as soon as possible. I can't wait to see the Citroën to compete.
By the way, test video of Beppo Harrach with the Fiesta

Jakeš will probably have to cancel his start in Austrian Lavanttal rally too.Quote:

Looks and sounds a lot better than the early tests as you would expect, but still seems a little "raw" to me in some respects. Gearchanges are quite slow, and throttle either seems to be on or off - that could just be the total lack of any sound when feathering the throttle though.
Generally I prefer it to the Fiesta in entertainment value :)
The look is great (despite those strange holes in the front bumper), sound is nice but somewhat empty (missing more anti-lag or louder blow-off valve). The car certainly looks more powerful (torque-vise) and much better in suspension (rear axle) than when I saw it in Ypres. Still I can not help myself but I feel like something is missing there. I don't know what maybe it's just general feeling with the R5 cars (except the Škoda testing videos about which we don't know how much real R5 the car was).

Hmm, that doesn't look and sound that impressive like the older videos. Maybe it's just the way it's filmed on a mobile phone or something similar but still.Quote:

What is the idea behind 5-speed gearbox for R5?
Good question. I can't think that it saves that much money and it just makes them slower and less spectacular.Quote:

It already sounds a little more refined in terms of gear change e.t.c. than the Peugeot..
Looking forward to seeing more videos.
+10 (!!!!) agreeQuote:

I imagine it's not that simple. Yes, it is more simple mechanics and less prone to defects, but I wonder in what degree it affects engnine mileage durability - with 5-speeds engnine spends less time in high revs (probably depends on the stages charecteristics anyway), the acceleration curve is not that agile, thus it is "gentle" to the engine and rebuild costs of it decrease significantly. Just my guesses :)Quote:

I tend to disagree partly. Bigger steps between gears are not so good for gearbox and transmission durability (hence why Citroën kept using 6-speed gearbox in C4 where it wasn't needed at all for the engine characteristics).Quote:

(MSport says turbo life is 1700kms which is hard to believe). Gearbox parts are a little bit cheaper in R5 comparing to S2k, but I already know you need to change them way more often, so... Similar situation with other parts - driveshafts, prop, etc. Those parts are cheaper in R5, but their quality is "cheaper" also... plus in S2k more parts were "rebuildable" while in R5 you need to buy new... Clutch is the same, brake parts similar price.
Thank You, that is basically what I thought.
So DS3 R5 won't be late for Portugal WRC Rally then :)
Chardonnet is not on the list if I have seen it right..Quote:

Yes, DS3 R5 will not be in Portugal.

this r5 in every video seems very impressive.Specially in terms of power.

Thank You both. It looks faster than 208 but it might be just my impression...
