Focus WRC Thread

Does anyone know if Paul Bird's new Focus WRC is indeed a brand new car or is it a rebuild of a former works car?
If it is a rebuild I would be very grateful if anyone can tell me the original reg-plate of his "3 MX"

Thanks to good people from this forum I have found out that 3 MX is actually EA07 PXN.

I read in some post on this forum and news there is a Focus WRC 09. Is there new homologation for Focus in 2009? Since when?

By the way: The car is upgrade to Focus WRC 08

WRC rules do not allow stobart to run 09 spec cars. They are required to run the previous years spec. Which as development is banned means they will be using 08 spec cars AFAIK.


Also. Anyone know why the cars are re-registered for rally finland?

I believe it is an insurance issue. But it is very VERY annoying for people who try to keep track. I'm not sure they have to do it for non-Finnish drivers (they didn't used to) but now it's every car.

Yeah it seems unnecessary to me to do it but there must be some logic. It used to be that you had the Peugeot team where Marcus and Rovanpera would have these temporary plates but Burns would not.

That could be why it seems like its ford. Because they have an all finnish team. Thanks. :D

Can anyone help with information on the Weavers cars who is driving for them in 2010 also who ran the kuipers focus's in 2009.
