He totally did, in fact a guy I played baseball with (Steve Ontiveros of San Francisco Giants and Chicago Cubs fame)was a hitting instructor in the Southern League when Mike played for the Birmingham Barons. He told me that not only could Mike not hit a curveball, he couldn't even recognize one.

He was playing baseball because of the NBA gambling suspension
