Good interview with the man of the moment and his lovely parents too.
Theres something endearing about Evans and personally, I would much rather him become WDC than Meeke.

Tell us more, Elfyn: “I feel comfortable with the car, that’s pretty clear.
“The car gives good feedback, but I’ve gone down my own route with a few things – just little tweaks on things. It’s obvious the car’s already fast and very driveable and they have all the good set-ups that you need , but you still have a bit of personalisation.
“I’m at the point where I know exactly what I need from a car and I’m not afraid to go for that car.
“Three years ago with Séb [Ogier] the last time, I would be thinking: ‘Séb wants this, he’s the world champion, so it can’t be wrong…’
“Actually, it’s more about understanding that I’m not here to copy Séb, I’m here to do my own thing.”

yes thats what i see from videos, generally the yaris is softer with more leaning, that can extract more grip.
Amazing job from Makinen team and BOS suspension.

It is apparently X-ERC driver Petter Kristiansens father Kristian, and his codriver from those days Ole Christian Brennum that saved Evans day:)

While it's certainly job well done to those that went to clear it saying they "saved Evans victory" is kinda bit of a stretch. If he slowed/stopped seeing it on the road he'd get time back for sure based on onboard.
The only risk was if he crashed (into it or out of the road). Then he'd get nothing as we have seen in Australia 2018 with the tractor.
Do not know if this has been here already but Evans win saved by spectators. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_c...ature=emb_logo
Yeah, I'm extraordinarily blind :(
So how good are these studded tyres? Unbelievably, the grip offered by studded tyres on snow is actually superior to that generated by treaded tyres on gravel. On gravel, a World Rally Car will cover about 125 metres as it accelerates from 0-100 kph. On snow, only about 107 metres are needed to get to 100kph. That’s a whole 14% faster, give or take a bit.

What about studded tyres on frozen gravel? ;)
Depends on how hard the gravel is. Some of the stone-hard gravel I saw on Friday had no scratches at all in it after the whole field braked on it from 160 kph. So the studs did not go in at all, in that case it will be slower, like using studded tires on tarmac.

”We told FIA that we are ready to bring gravel tyres for some stages. Never got a real answer”. Read it from the next Vauhdin Maailma magazine how Michelin was prepared for Rally Sweden. #wrc
This rally was nervous even before the rally started whether it would be canceled or not.
We went there with zero expectations and were very pleasantly surprised.
The roads held much better than I thought they would do and it was much smaller ruts than it usually is.
At Finnskogen and Nyckelvattnet the road was completely smooth after the cars had passed, which is usually notr the case.
There was not much ice on the road where we were and at Finnskogen there were only very few spots.
You can't say much about Likenäs. If it is plus degrees for more than 24 hours and in addition heavy rain and wind, ice and snow disappear very quickly. It was the right decision to cancel the first round of the stage.
However, it seems that tires and roads held much better than everyone thought it would. So I am happy that they could drive even though they obviously would have liked to have seen a longer rally.
About the future of rallying, I think you have to try to find more snow-safe stages even though this winter is the worst in almost 30 years.
A big thank you to everyone who was involved in the rally and especially the marshalls who worked in to the end to get so god roads as it could be under these conditions.
