Short summary of drivers thoughts after SS3.
No problems for Pech, just off the pace of the top. Valousek one overshoot on SS3 with little damage to the car (hit a house). Kresta safe on SS2 but too slow according to his meaning. Tlustak surprised by his times, said feeling was very slow. Odlozilik on totally wrong tyres (media on rear). Štajf cautious, Peták scared by aquaplaning on many places. Arazim had spare slicks and had a puncture on SS2, so drove SS3 on wrong combination of tyres. Běhálek relaxed and happy. Orsák problems with fogged windshield. Triner happy although he said he is a bit scared on water. Bujacek technical problems. Cerny had medium tyres and big off on SS3. Slehofer learing 4WD. Votava very unhappy with his driving. Dunovsky in SS2 overshoot, stalled engine and fogged windscreen. Kouril very happy with the car and surprised by his time on SS2.

Šlehofer retired, he was doing a good rally especially as he has only a little experience with a 4WD car.

Impressive of the Fabia R2 to lead on so many c2r2 in max config. Must have at least 30-40 hp more.
C2 Max has cca 5 Hp more than Fabia.
Funny thing on SS6 from statistic point of view. In last 4 years it's always same legendary stage Malonty on Saturday morning only in different variants. And 3x from 4 years Kresta won it by same gap 17+-0,5 seconds :D

Some info after first leg. Tlustak out - engine. Triner small problems with too old dampers. Kresta was off on SS5. Petak like always blind in the dark. Orsak still fogged windscreen (still doesn't have R4 heated one and the air ventilation works bad in R4). Votava puncture on SS4. Mifka smoke in the car. Trojan problems with flat-shift. Stajf cautious after scary crash last year on same stage as SS4 into logs. Pech said he's slow but don't know why. Behalek ok, Valousek understands penalty...
Next stage is by large part completely new one.

Kresta happy with his attack on SS6 and changes to setup, now safe mode. Valousek disappointed by his nervous driving today. Pech feels he is little scared in fast sections. Behalek ok except stage SS8 which he doesn't like. Odlozilik suffers from flu. Orsak broken driveshaft on SS7, 8, 9; now retired with brake problems. Stajf hit a birch on SS7 and a concrete on spectator stage, no big damage. Votava off on SS7 and problems with fuel pump on SS8 and 9. Petak careful and not comfortable feeling. Arazim tries to catch Votava. Vlcek says he can't believe how fast are others on classic stages which he doesn't know that good (first start here). Triner tries to keep Cerny behind him and not to make a puncture. Tucek tired and not happy. Kouril said he overslept the morning and can't catch rhythm. Cerny tries to catch Triner but he doesn't like SS8 at all. Bujacek nothing to fight for, cruise mode. Mifka engine problems.
Reason for Tlustak's retirement may have been water in electrics.
Very nice driving by R. Kresta. He really knows how to drive in wet conditions and make rain setup for his Fabia.Quote:

It was only a test for one czech company (which is selling BMW cars) - they expect to buy it for next year.

By the way zero car for Bohemia city stage. Laurint & Klement (original name of Škoda Auto) model 300 "Mákina". Only one piece was build and no-one knows when (rebuild of a limousine dated around 1920). It is original car from Škoda Museum. 4.7 litre I4 SV with 105 Hp and 4-speed gearbox.

Good start for Pech. I guess he will be right on the pace at Barum this year. Every year he seems to do the most impressive performance of the year for an N4 car on an IRC event.
Pech is already competing with a R4 Mitsu.

Next year we´ll probably witness a pleasant surprise from Pech.
