This car looks and sounds so awesome, I'm amazed how fast they are driving over those asphalt sections with a small amount of ice/snow.Quote:

And then they wan't to add turbos and kill half of the fun...Quote:

I honestly think most "normal" people who saw a clip of an S2000 wouldn't know it was going slower than a World Rally Car, maybe even the opposite.
Patrik Sandell on Skoda Fabia in the PWRC09 ??? Official ??
Am I the only person that thinks that Skoda is ugly and like a breeze block on wheels. I hope its got a good engine because the aero efficiency must be terrible at high speed!

The counter-force from aerodynamics depends on drag coefficient multiplied by front area, the rest is same for all cars. In rallying speeds are not that huge to produce big aerodynamic resistance. Usualy worse drag coefficient is used for better aerodynamic thrust.Quote:

Maybe opponents have less front area, that would make more difference. Fabia is higher but the cabin is also thinner. I can't say...
Aerodynamic resistance [N] = frontal area [m] * air density [kg/m3] * drag coefficient [1] * square of speed [m/s]
That was theory but the fact is that something ugly (I agree that especialy stock Fabia is ugly) needn't to be unefficient. It's not possible to judge by sight.
So when is the road Mk II vRS going to come out? Rumours are 2010 - which seems a long wait - Skoda are probably losing potential customers because of this, not me though - I have a vRS SE.
